BTLOS vs DiyCarbonBikes
« on: February 28, 2022, 03:52:32 PM »
Hey guys.

Help me finalize my decision. I'm primed to pull the trigger on some carbon wheels for my mtb. Here is the pertinent info for the options I'm looking at. I like the stateside customer support from Diy, but overall I like the build of btlos. Feel free to chime in with your thoughts or experiences with either vendor.

Or is there another vendor I'm totally overlooking at this pricepoint?

From what I hear, DIY's customer service is non existent. I had a friend wait 9 months for a frame and they wouldn't respond at all. The owner kept deflecting and making up lies about it. I've heard many poor reviews on MTBR as well. I've heard nothing but good about BTLOS, I have one friend with a great experience.  I personally use SpeedSafe wheels, but they are a true AliExpress company without a polished website or local reps.

Just found a coupon that takes a cool $80 off for BTLOS. Pretty much seals the deal for me. Not a bad deal if anyone else is looking for wheels!!!

Specs on the BTLOS wheels looks much better — I’ve had plenty of trouble with Novatec (esp. the freehubs), and none with Bitex. Then there’s the superior spokes, among other things.

Too bad they don’t appear to offer 32H wheels with the Bitex 212 (centerlock), I’d be very interested in that.
