Coren Carbon Urban Bike - Awesome Design
« on: November 08, 2014, 03:07:06 PM »
Came across this bike made by a company called Coren, and was impressed with the design. Not a mountain bike, but it is carbon. Wish MTBs could be this minimal and light! Really digging the belt drive and have been wanting to ride a bike with belt drive for a while, now.

Anyways, the bike:

If/when graphene makes it mainstream you will get your wish and then some. We could all be riding around on 12 pound full suspension MTBs that are way stronger than what we have now in 10-15 years.

Definitely awesome design in this bike.. Thx for the share.

Seems crazy (insane!) but a 10 pound full suspension, extremely strong,  mountain bike is probably totally within the realm of possibility if graphene ever trickles down into the components that we currently see carbon fiber used to manufacturer. Progress is being made. It truly is a revolutionary, futuristic material!

Aerogels are to brittle unfortunately, but maybe some composites ...

Some more photos of a slightly more usable version of the bike -- this one has grips and brakes:

Looks like it's got an integrated taillight, which is pretty cool.

Dunno about that top tube design. For a MTB, that would be a real nut cracker. :D

At least it looks like something that would be practical to ride, for the most part anyway.
