Super Team wheels have an easy to scratch surface. I find Elite Wheels have a more durable coating/carbon lay up or whatever they use.
On a side note, I've had lightweight wheelsets before and I found during windy days, they're not fun especially if you're not protected by other cyclists on a group ride. I did PR a hill climb segment by a whole 7 seconds with a 1300g wheelset, but I'm not sure if it was the wheels or I was well rested prior to doing the segment?
The Superteam wheels that I had in the past have been excellent from visual aspect. Performance wise, not the lightest but straight and true out of the box and remained so for a really long time. Couldn't have asked for more, they used to be under 300 but have slowly crept up in price.
Willing to bet it was you being well rested. I can post similar times on almost 9kg VB GF002 riding on ICAN 50mm gravel wheels (1650 grams)+GK SS 32c as my Cannondale SSE2 weighing 7.2kg with Superteam 38mm deep (1510 grams) on 23c smooth tires. But VB is far more comfortable while the SSE2 is hard...while riding on unevenly laid concrete blocks on trail overpass I almost feel sorry for the frame.
What's up with different pricing and wheelset availability with Elite Wheels and their two AliEx store fronts?
Its the case with many other brands too - Litepro, TFSA and few others. They all have "official stores" and stores with some other prefix, all having different prices. One store will be offering paid shipping, the other will do same with free shipping rest all being equal. Never understood that. Fortunately, free shipping on Aliex now is so much improved even the cheapest, smallest items ($3-4) with free shipping arrive to USA within 12-14 days. Bigger and reputable stores like Anarancee are even better, 7-9 days flat to Seattle, WA.
