Which chains is everyone using?
tripleDot:
Shimano NX01, some people calls it Olive chain. For single speed or fixed gear only.

Do they make 12 speed shimano compatible chains? I run shimano cranks, cassettes and chains on all my MTBs, and of course SRAM 12 speed are not compatible w/ shimano's 12 speed chainring profile.
mirphak:
Sram GX, or if there is a good deal, Sram X01.

To be honest the hot wax method may be better, but too complicated and time consuming...

I switched to the immersive wax method and I won't go back. I was able to pick up a $19 USD ultrasonic cleaner (big enough for the chain) and I use a dedicated $9 USD slow cooker just for wax. The only part that's a bit time consuming is the initial degreasing of the chain, but once that's done you just have to periodically re-dip the chain in the slow cooker. If you need to remove the wax off the chain (or residual wax on the cassette), boiling hot water does the trick and you can then redo the degreasing process.
For travel, I'd probably just bring a 2nd waxed chain.

I've yet to reach the end of an Eagle XX1.
With the first generation non Eagle XX1, I used to replace the whole transmission every 9 months.
Although I had to change the cheap Aliexpress ring on my FM936 recently, but the chains and cassette are still fine.
Two things have changed since I'm using Eagle chains on my gravel and MTBs.
I rotate 3 chains on each randomly. And hot wax them all together.
It takes about 2h of distant attention(swapping chains every 10' or so) to make 9 to 12 chains.
I started waxing when Marcin from AbsoluteBlack advised me to use squirt in an email.
And then saw the Australian youtuber hot waxing chains.
I always travel with 3 freshly waxed chains, and a small bottle of UFO drip in case of wet rides.
