LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets

Aren't new V3 eR9/X shift buttons the same as the eGR? My eGR shift buttons only rattle if I poke at them repeatedly. Though I never notice if they make sound because I'm usually listening to music while riding!

He guys, I want to build my dad a cheap gravel/road bike. He never had one and just turned 76 - his dream is one day being able to ride AlpDHuez. That's wh I want to build him the right tool for this.
I think he'll need something in the Area of 46-51, so having a small reduction overall would be nice.

I heard lots of the Atwood but there are a gazillion versions on AliExpress- can anyone pinpoint me in the right direction for it? I'd guess leaving any front derailleur and problems will be easier overall...so 1x12? 1x11 should do it?

I don't know what the fitness of your 76 year old dad is, but riding Alpe d'Huez and 1x12 does not seem like a good combo. At least, unless you put in an absurdly small chainring, at which point it becomes a MTB bike with dropbars, and not gravel/road bike like you said. It might actually be worthwhile to consider hardtail MTB which has a much more relaxed position, unless your dad is very fit and flexible in his age.

Yeah I get your point, but he is rinsing a Canyon Road lite on the trainer currently which has about 0-2cm between saddle and handlebar so he is kinda used to a more sporty version. I don't think he'll like going up with a MTB. This would look like shit (btw: currently he sits at 2.3W/kg FTP, rode up Alpe on Rouvy Multiple times - but that's not the topic here )

So has anyone connected their eRX to their head units. I've connected mine to my Sigma Rox 11.1 and I'm guessing the rox doesn't quite understand what the eRX is or the eRX doesn't quite know what the rox is.

It connects. It displays gears, but when checking battery it just says 0%. And it often disconnects and reconnects.

I just finished watching the Trace Velo video on the new system and I, too, am disappointed to see the magnetic charging option completely removed. I understand, and welcome, the addition of the USB-C charging. But, the magnetic, break-away charging port - even if imperfect - was what I preferred.

I have kids around, and my biggest fear has always been that one of them bump or try to move my bike while I'm not around and not realize it was charging.

Use a powerbank that is attached to the bike, second bottlecage is a good location for it.

Dang. There was just a price drop on the eR9 from the Ltwoo-official store, and I couldn't resist any longer. $345 before coupons and tax. After the $40 coupon it was $305. I actually added 1-2 things I had been needing anyway and was able to use the $60 coupon. (I either got $20 worth of free stuff or actually got the eR9 for $285, however I prefer to justify it to myself, lol). At $285 it's a slam dunk purchase. I don't have a disc road frame to use it on right now, but sometime in the next year or so I've been intending to do a build. I already have the eGR on my gravel bike and I've got over 1000mi on it and 1 crash that it has (mostly) survived, so I'm basically all-in on the Ltwoo ecosystem now.

I would have liked to have gotten it from 80s Designer Store, but I couldn't find it and I wondered if they had sold out. There was a review left on Ltwoo-offical store's product page from just a few weeks ago saying that the reviewer was happy to see it came with USB-C charging on the front derailleur, so it appears they at least are selling the v2 version (not holding out hope for v3). I thought the v2 had a (presumably) slightly updated RD but added USB-C charging to the FD, while the v3 had a further updated RD that removed the magnetic charging? Then again, now that I think about it further, the v2 may have only given out to reviewers and once it was being sold it was the v3 version.

I thought V2 only had the updated shifters, updated FD cage, brake calipers and shifter design. V3 added the FD USB-C charging.

Since you're buying it from the Choice store, you only have 90 days to check if there are any issues. After that, you're SOL if something goes wrong and you didn't notice until after you installed the groupset months later. At least you have peace-of-mind 80 Design Store will easily replace components if something goes wrong.

Though I did buy the eGR from the LTwoo factory store when it was $300 during Black Friday and my groupset has been very solid. I feel like the latest LTwoo components have stepped up in quality.

Hmmm... I thought for sure I had bought it from Ltwoo-official store, but you might be right and it was a choice purchase in actuality. Thanks for pointing that out, and I'll be sure to keep that in mind when I receive it (especially since I don't plan on using it right away).

do we know what is triggering the shipping restriction? I am in Canada and also noticed a lot of things can't be shipped too

AliExpress is buggy as hell. Sometimes I find that I have restrictions on certain items, but if I click on the + or the image link instead, sometimes those restrictions are removed.
