Finally, some common sense! I don't understand the logic behind people with long torso opting for a bigger bike (i.e. longer seat tube resulting in a higher seating position) and short stem. Wouldn't be more logical to go with a smaller size frame and longer stem instead in such cases?

It's an option but then I'd need to run a load of spacers to get the bars to the same height and I prefer the look of a longer head tube to a load of spacers, plus it's generally stiffer. For a road bike I'm not sure it really matters which way you do it as long as the contact points end up in the right place.

I’m 182cm with short legs and ordered 54 size of frame and accidentally got 56 frame.
I tried to fit this 56 frame, but it was too big. LC send me 54 size, and this was perfect with 120mm stem lenght.
56 seat tube was way too high for me.

It confirms that for anyone around 175cm size 52 is the way to go since 54 suits a 182cm rider!! Paradoxically Asian size FRAMES are bigger/larger… I ride a Specialized VENGE size 54 and it’s perfect for my 175cm

To confuse people even more, some brands (e.g. Colnago) have a completely different sizing system while using more or less the same numbers. It all boils down to geometry charts instead of relying on commercial sizes (such as 54, M, long etc.).

Hahaha I have been SERIOUSLY considering it. 1x with 13s SRAM XPLR in the back and proper 36 to 40c road tires… so tempting… in my head the bike is already built, with black gloss handlebars, fork & seetpost while the rest would be UD RAW MATTE

Like I said I have nothing but praise for the LCR017, I love riding it, it feels fast & reactive, comfortable too (33-35c tires sure helps)

Samuel BMR: What is your experience with that RAW Carbon Glossy finish on that LightCarbon frame. from durability stand point ? Does it scratches easily and develops micro scratches or something like that compare to UD matt. It looks pretty cool on your video now Iam deciding between RAW glossy or matt.

I’ve done around 200km on it, and I’m totally happy with it. It weighs 7.8kg.

Hey may I ask you, these three lines on the head tube look much better than the LC logo. Did they do it themselves or did you provide them with your design? In what format? I'm a designer and can make everything very precise, but I have doubts that if I do it, the task might become too complex and they'll either mess it up or/and charge a lot.

Hey guys me again. I have almost decided on my choice, and my favorite is LCR017-D. There are also the Long Teng LTK266-D-SL and TFSA JH-35 in my shortlist t, but both are more expensive ($1300-$1500 incl. shipping to EU) and, to be honest, I like them less, even though they have the geometry of the Tarmac SL8 and both weigh around 700g, probably about 100-150g less than the LCR017-D.

BUT I'm worried about the aggressive geometry. I'm sitting and comparing geometries on bikeinsights .com, and I see that all popular top frames have roughly the same geometry (SL8, SuperSix, Giant TCR, Look 795 etc.). Their Stack and Reach are +/- 1-2mm, but the LCR017-D has Stack -6mm and Reach +10mm relative to them. Is this fit too aggressive too low position? How does it feel to you guys?

Adding spacers is a problem you can easy solve. I think each one can have a different feeling becasue each one has different body measurements.
It depends on your frame size, body size and your usual bike geometry. If you have to add 4 or more cm of spacers maybe it's not best frame for you.

Do you guys feel like this is still the go to choice for someone looking for a fast chiner road build in late 2025? Not the lightest, not the most aero, but great reviews, aggressive, and a well established manufacturer?
