Cassette wobble after local bike shop installed 9Velo GV35 wheelset

I got a 9Velo GV35 wheelset, asked the LBS to install it. After the mechanic gave me attitude for using Chinese wheels, he said that they caused a wobble in my cassette.

I have an 11 speed cassette, I'm surprised there's an issue in the first place. Another LBS said I need a new cassette.

Do I need a new cassette, new wheels, new hubs or is this poor installation?

Would like more details. What cassette is it?
That wobble seems "consistent" at one particular location, so it could be that the cassette isn't sitting properly on the freehub but the video is too short to say anything surely.

This cassette is in fact a Shimano mountainbike cassette, and 11s mountainbike HG freehubs are a bit more narrow than road. . If you put it on a 11speed road hub , it needs a 1,85 mm spacer. Without the spacer you can't clamp it, it will wobble. Was the spacer used?

Your videos look weird. I can't really figure out anything. Is it possible to tilt the cassette?.

I thought about it but that cassette does look like its a road cassette and not MTB spec, so the 1.85mm spacer won't be needed unless OP's LBS installed it and pushed the cassette down forcibly.

It does look weird, off-axis. Benny, does the freehub come off easily like on DT Swiss wheels?

Buy a cassette removal tool and put the cassette back yourself. The tool shouldn't be that much money and it will allow you to do your own cassette maintenance in the long run. It will also confirm if you need a spacer or if the LBS did any stupid lazy work.

Trace velo has a recent video where he thought he got a bad cassette, when it was a MTB type cassette that just needed a spacer to fit on a road hub.

My 5 cents: switch to waxing your drive train (plenty of videos on YT on how to do that), and now that your drivetrain is always clean, do your own basic maintenance like changing cassettes and what not. You really dont need many tools, will grow hair on your chest, and will make you 12% more attractive.

Yeah, you can get a kit with the basic tools for bike maintenance for about 40€ (if you have LIDL in your country, the webshop sells this for example). The more specialised stuff you can find on Ali.

If you see what a bike shop charges per hour these days, the payback time is <1h. And you don't have to drive your bike to the shop. You can do most of the maintenance in less time than it takes you to put the bike in your car and drive it to the LBS.

On the oft chance I need work done, I only go to a mom-n-pop LBS that's family owned and has been around since the 80s. The wife is the cashier and husband is the mechanic. They never question the components or the bikes, they just offer reasonable prices for repairs. The issues are some of these newer bike shops that are more into the trends or social media following. I find them the most biased when it comes to equipment.

XT 11s is an MTB cassette. MTB 11 speed cassettes are the same width as 10 speed road cassettes so a spacer WILL be needed if it is going on a road freehub. If it is 11s road cassette then no spacer needed. Amazingly enough - in OP's case its Ultegra road cassette but with 11-34 teeth which is an exception to the rule and is same width as MTB 10 speed cassette therefor a 1.85 spacer should be installed or it will wobble. I was wrong before about not needing spacer.
