I'm 172cm height, with bikeinsights I compare to my old frame.
Size M seems to fit ?

Agree they are ugly. You can get around it by doing what I did which is using a different dust cap (as you can see I used the FSA ACR 55R  one) but with the carbonda compression ring etc but it’s quite an expensive way of doing it if you have to buy a whole new headset upper! Does look better though

The first option, assuming you a) asked Carbonda to supply a headset and so can use the compression ring etc; and b) the bars you intend to use are ACR system compatible.

The reason why buying the full FSA headset won’t be a complete solution for you, I said on page 4 of this thread:
 “For reference (I learned by trial and error) - the FSA 55R ACR bearings are 51.8x8. This means they’re not compatible with Carbonda’s crown race or compression ring. And the design of the frame means you can’t run an FSA 55R top bearing, FSA 55R compression ring and FSA 55R dustcover because the bearing seats lower in the top of the head tube, the compression ring has a lower stack height and so taken together the dust cover rubs on the top of the head tube.”

If you do use the FSA bearings like me and you get a rubbing between the top of the frame and the plastic FSA cover you can buy a bunch of these spacers and that fixes the problem.

I've asked Carbonda to supply a headset and two different covers so when I get my fit sorted out properly I can have everything tidied away as is the way now.
one to allow internal routing and the use of an ACR like stem/bar combo (C2)
one to allow internal routing and the use of external cable bars and stem (C3)

My 505 SL is in the shop getting built into a bike. Hooray!

Bike shop called today as they're having an issue with the headset.

The top cap is binding with the top of the head tube. Normally you can put a spacer between the compression ring and top cap but you can’t with this design.

I have the top cap that allows integrated bars, but until I sort out my position properly I'm only going to use "normal" bars and stem.

Will those FSA microspacers work?

My bikeshop owner also noted, when the bike was ready for pick up, that the upper dust cap contacted the frame. At least that is what I think he meant. This is with FSA SMR stem. He said he managed to work with it by creating a custom spacer of some sort. I didn't take it apart to have a look.

You can ask them to add/remove whatever mounts you want for 10 USD/pair. I added 2 on the top tube and removed ones on the down tube (near the bottom bracket). Gotta pay 20 USD extra.

Yes i know i asked them about it, but i think they add it afterwards. They say you cant put load on it ("the weighing capacity of this kind of mounts added later is not good.") and i would like to mount a top tube bag. So i am not quite sure if thats a good idea. How is it holding up for you?

I see. If it's a kinda of bikepacking purpose, probably not the best solution. My idea was to use a small bag for little things like phone/battery/some spare/whatever, so not much load. Can't say anything about it for now since I haven't received the frame yet (technically, the frame is ready to ship, but I asked to postpone for a while).

Can someone tell me if the 50/34 for a 2x is really the max? I'm justed to 52/36 and would love to keep that gear ratio.

And does the Deda Superbox DCR work on this frame?
