New xc hardtail
« on: September 05, 2023, 12:40:58 AM »
Hi guys! I’m new here, but let me start by saying, fantastic forum!

My previous bike got stolen, so for my next bike, I’m planning to build it my self.
I’m going for a 1x12 system, either the Slx or the GX eagle.
I had the Nxeagle on my last bike. And I thought it performed well.

So I’m going to use the bike for training and marathon races.

I need so advice on choosing the frame? There is a lot to choose from, there is a carbon jungle out there :p

I’m 1.75cm, and around 78kg

I think your post is a little vague and would benefit from a few details that would benefit what people recommend. If you're looking to do marathons on it then I guess you want something with a steeper headtube angle and preferably on the lighter side, too?

I appolagise for the vague post. I was exited buying the frame so i went for the SP -M06  https://www.sp-cycle.com/spcycle-2023-new-t1000-carbon-mountain-bike-frame-udh-hanger-12x148mm-boost-full-internal-routing-29er-mtb-carbon-frame-p5026610.html

It looks pretty much alike the new Scott Scale, and the angles are the same.

It will be either the Reba or the Marzocchi Bomber z2.
What kind of wheels are you fitting?

Good choice of frame. I am going to buy an SPCycle frame soon, their lightest one for a weight weenie build. Depending on your budget, you can build a 29er wheelset for about £550-600 thats about 1020g or less. I saw a deal on some J-bend extralite hubs so they're on the way and I'll gets rims when budget allows.

Defo add pics as you go because I may consider this frame too! excited to see the outcome and your build choice :)
