Well, that's early in the project but parts are being ordered as I am waiting for the frame to become available in L. This will be my very first built, I have barely touched a bike in 20+ year but that should be the project getting me back into it and first project shared with my son (5yo) who has developed a huge interest for mountain biking.

Here is the component selection so far (in bold what's been ordered, I will add the weight as I receive the parts vs quoted ones), prices is what I paid including shipping, taxes and discounts:

1st time builder tools:

I am going to try and get the data in a table format with quoted weight, actual weight and actual price paid and eventually I will be asking a lot of questions about how to do stuff when the time to get the tools out! wish me luck!

Missing frame and wheels, everything else has been ordered (well, missing greases and carbon paste), I think. open to comments, suggestion from more experienced builder, anyone who's been thinking about building a bike for more than 4 weeks lol

It's one of the rare chinese carbon hardtails that has a reasonable modern geometry, so I am very curious how you like it.

Well, received pretty much everything that was ordered, I have to admit that I am especially impressed by two sub system:
Zrace brake
ltwoo shifter/derailleur

The visual quality is really impressive for what you pay for it

In the disappointment side, not related to this project but to my son bike, Goldix chainring and crankset, not really impressed. For exemple, if I buy a set ring and crankset, I would expect to have the screws for the ring to be supplied?!

What chainline does this crankset have? The frame is 55mm chainline (as is the the Scott scale).
That means (w/o considering noname) it's either MTB boost wide / MTB wide or the new SRAM transmission.
Otherwise your chain might rub ob the chain stays.
I am also considering a build with the m06 and waiting for the Large version.

this a great question that I havent fully considered TBH. I bought because it was compatible with SRAM stuff, just like the cassette and had 3mm offset that seems to be somewhat of the standard for boost:

I may be wrong on many accounts...

The frame will supposedly available on the 25th. they are also going to list integrated handlebar:
