The cassette came without the lockring, any good spot to buy one? I am not too sur which one I need exactly, XD compatible is my only clue, not sure if they are any other considerations

If its an XD cassette then there is no lockring. You need a standard shimano cassette lockring tool to thread the cassette directly to the XD driver body I believe.

Also, I like this thread already, got your items listed with weights. I like all the details. I hope the build goes well and excited to see how you find this when built up and riding!  8)

Ok, thanks for clarifying!

Thanks, I am enjoying the hunting for information, parts and also the documenting. The build will be vastly overdone vs my needs as I mostly ride with my 5yo, but it’s a cool project that I am sharing with my son so definitely worth it!

I had a Z race crank like that for a while on several bikes. I really liked it, and fairly light for price. Destroyed when it was on my son's bike and he was jumping with loose cranks. I would recommend it tho

Interested in that cassette: is there a microspline version available?

Speedao don't make a MS version but ZTTO make an ultralight equivalent here: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPdjCfe

Overall, what kind of budget are you working to and what weight are you hoping to complete the build to?

total cost will be around 1700$ I think, weight should be around 20lbs. bulk of the cost of course is in frame and wheelset
