Gravel frame and wheel recommendations
« on: October 13, 2023, 05:22:53 AM »
Hi everyone
I'm in the market for a new gravel frame and wheels
Looking at carbon for both .
Wheels are to be 650b,  like to ride some rougher stuff so need a bit of comfort.
Been looking all over aliexpress but with so many options my mind is pickled lol .

Any recommendations you have ?

Cheers cooky

Currently, the most commonly used is a 25mm internal rims for gravel bike wheels

Just get a frame that fits 50mm 700c wheels and You will have more the enough comfort. 650b are crap tbh

Here are some options for 650b wheels:

You also can ask for an MTB rim laced to road hubs and there are a lot more options, for example:

In general, I think 650b really makes sense if you want to go with a 27.5x2.1"- 2.2" MTB tire, otherwise the tire selection is limited and 700c is a better choice. There are a few high-end XC tires that may make that worth it as they tend to roll really fast and have deeper tread.
