Magene P505 PES Base Spider Powermeter

I have the same problem with the squeaking magene cranks. I am running original ultegra chainrings, a magene powermeter spider and the pes cranks. I have the newer Version of the preload bolt(the two bolts that are screwed into each other). Does anyone have a solution of using other crankarms for the powermeter or using the teo crankarms? I know the magene spider interface is proprietary but there was someone in a forum that described how he made it work with an easton style crank.

i just received new crankarms from Magene (on Alix) after complaining about the squeaking noise that everything seemingly has.
the package only included a left and right crankarm, no new preload bolt.
they told me to install using the preload bolt that is in the defective crank.
I'm afraid that the squeaking will just start again over time.

After aprox 10kkm and 150k elevation my chainrings gave up... When I ordered the PES505 I added the chainrings and now when the shimanos gave up, I intended to switch them out with the magenes when I saw they the two are binded together and are not to be used with the spider. I mean WTF... And they werent the cheapest. Ofc the Ali shop is long shut...

Not sure I understand. The rings you bought with the powermeter don't fit the powermeter?

yes, check the chainring(s) and tell me where to fit the spider.

Either they sent the wrong item, or the wrong item was ordered with the set. The listing I ordered from specifically stated QED split chainrings, meaning they were 2 split pieces. Yours is a 1 piece spider and chainring, meaning that you would have to remove the powermeter spider to install/use them.

Since you say your seller is gone, I think your only options are to either run the chainrings (and not have the powermeter), or sell them for a little bit of money to offset the price of new 110mm, 4 bolt, Simano style asymetrical rings.

Yes, I know... If it was deliberate F the seller if it was an honest mistake, well F me because I did not even think about checking the chainring when it was delivered as I used the old shimanos. You could order just the PM or the PM with CR). I have never even seen a double chainring.

Btw as I already said, I was so angry when exchanging the chainrings that I had to get of my chest...

Hey guys, one quick question... as I am about to install new chainrings (Ultegra), how long do the bolts need to be? 9mm? Whats the correct torque? Don want to break it too soon again.

Original Shimano bolts work fine of course, they have a thread length of about 10mm.
I use titanium bolts on my P505 with a thread length of 9.2mm.
