Hi, wondering if anyone has found any CL rotor shims on AE? Thanks

Resurrecting this thread since I'm thinking of getting second wheelset for my gravel bike and may need some shims. They seem stupidly expensive for such a tiny piece of metal.

Anyone seen something that'll work on Ali?

I might do scissors and soda can for that?

Parts made from shim stock have to be some of the most expensive items one sometimes has to purchase. You are paying for tight tolerances, low production volumes, material quality, and supply-chain markups rather than by raw material weight.

If your wheels do not have the rotors in the exact same positional alignment, and you want to be able to quickly swap wheels, you have 3 choices.  1. Re-adjust the calipers to match the rotor position.  2. Bite the bullet and purchase the thickness shim/s that you calculate will center the rotor between your 2 wheel sets.  3 Be sure that when you build up your wheels you swap, you use the exact same brand and model hubs and rotors.

Rotor shims tend to have 36 to 37mm ID, and 40 to 44mm OD, usually, in thicknesses of .1 and .25mm.  You might be able to find a more common bottom bracket shim that can be used as a rotor shim.

Even buying the same hub model can lead to the need of shim because dimension tolerances are large enough to screw the alignment . -> so that advice does not help

There are DIN shims that can do the job very cheap. ID fits but OD is a bit larger as needed. But that doesn't matter frankly.

I bought these
https://aliexpress.com/item/1005001965727121.html
and these

in M35x45. Both stainless steel and available in various thickness'.
Use the side cutter to cut the circle so you can get the shims placed over the centerlock ratchet.

Ordering such "cheap" items to Europe has become an issue with the recent tax, not sure where you are based or what your ordering options are...
