there has to be a gap of at least 3-4 mm between top cap and expander. you need to cut again or use another lexon spacer under the stem or a rounded spacer above the stem.

My stupid question for the day: Is that gap between the Lexon dustcap and your bearing just there to show the bearing and plastic ring in place? Also, you need the pinchbolts loose when you tighten down the top cap to pretension the bearings. But you probably know that. I also thought carbon steerers need to be cut higher, so the pinch bolts align with the compression sleeve inside.

I just received my frame yesterday but my Lexon bar is still awaiting a flight from China so I'm thinking this through myself.

I just put the same 700x55 fenders on my LT GV201 running 48c Thunderos. It's tedious, but worth it. For the seat stay bridge I used the Specialized fender bridge part #S182200001 that clamps around the seattube.

Thanks for your help. I managed to fix it with the Lexon handlebar. It really was just the C-ring. I've now installed the plastic one and everything fits perfectly. I didn't have to recut the fork.

I hunted high and low for a suitable bridge solution, but didn’t come across that one. I’m currently using a strip of rubber off a Garmin handlebar mount taped to the top of the mudguard blade to prevent it from knocking against the seat stays, which works well, but I think your mount is a more elegant solution.

It’s always the same. You cannot compress the metal c ring so if it’s not 100% true the fork will wobble around. The plastic one ca be compressed. The only exception are metal c ring where you have a little cut like in crown races so they can work under compression.

I've used the bearings and the metal C-ring that comes with the Lenox handlebar and got a little bit of play (1 or 2 mm). Do you know how can I fix it? Using the plastic C-ring?

Took a hit to the rear wheel on a square edge while riding some rocky ST. The hit was transmitted thru the whole bike but I was under the impression whatever damage occurred, would be localized to the rear wheel... Finished said ride and noticed the damage while standing around after. I wanna say it was a fluke, as the bars have been great in the 1k miles prior…

Okay! I read in another user's post that his Lexon cockpit cracked in the same spot, so I wanted to ask. I was unsure whether the top cap could also be the culprit if it's overtightened. I've noticed with my Lexon cockpit that the top cap that came with it just isn't 100% designed for this cockpit. You're only supposed to tighten it to 1-2 Nm, otherwise it presses too hard on the handlebars and damages the paint.
