I suppose it is the same. So, I assume that you have an alloy C ring? If it is the case, it is certainly out of tolerance leading to your issue.

Based on previous comments I thought it was different tbh, but yes I did get and use a C Ring made out of metal, which I guess it's of remarkable quality

Any suggestions for a replacement? Quality brands and what's the specific size to get

For the c ring? As they system is proprietary you have so search on AliX to find maybe something that fits. I recommend plastic as it is flexible. Otherwise replace the handlebar. Lexon is a budget option w/o this issue.

After seeing these solid steel, no flex compression rings I decided to make my own.

I haven't tested yet as I am waiting for my frame but its printed in MJF PA12 plastic which has verry good durability and strength and good chemical resistance too so will be good with grease and oils and bike cleaners etc.

Have made the top thin so that I can just add spacers on top to get the ideal top cap height.

This is the compression ring on an old piece of handle bar stem from a previous build. fitted inside a bearing with 40mm ID and 52mm OD. (Assuming that's the bearing that the bikes comes with as that's standard for most. If not I will just update my design and print a new one)

Can someone please confirm what size bearing is being sent out with the bike from TanTan.

What are folk who run 1x using to replace the front derailleur hanger? I asked for blanking plate for this, and got 4 rubber bungs, which I've put in for now but would prefer a more permanent solution.
Guess I could look to 3d print something, but was hoping for something more elequent.

Other thing I noticed, most folk seem to receive all the bolts for the mounting holes. Typically steel and heavy so was going to replace them anyway, but I never received any from LongTeng. Normal M5 threads so have ordered some nylon ones to use as blankers in pannier mounts etc and titanium for bottle cages etc

I bought the gr201 frameset and handlebars last month, in the mean time that i'm waiting I was looking at this thread.
I saw that a lot of people use a Lexon cockpit instead of the supplied cockpit. Is the supplied cockpit not good or does it have problems or something?
I'm really debating now if I too should buy an other cockpit, and if so, wich one haha.

The compression rings are usually matched to the bearing's internal chamfer angle. As I understand it, these bikes are supplied with 45 degree outer and 45 degree inner chamfers, which matches the Deda DCR system, therefore a Deda DCR compression ring should work with the supplied bearings. On the otherhand, the FSA ACR system uses 45/35 bearings so the top bearing would need to be swapped for a 52 x 40 x 7 - 45/35 to use an ACR c-ring. The other thing to note is that these c-rings often have notches to engage with the matching bearing cover.

Would a man of your skills be interested in designing a 3d printable mudguard bridge, similar to the one for the Vitus Venon I posted a page back? It only needs to fit round the back of the seat stays and be held in place by the M5 bolts on the frame there. At its centre there should be a hole to accept an M5 bolt from below to fix the mudguard, or alternatively a horizontal hole that can be used to attach a mudguard bracket with a horizontal bolt. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to persuade you in this endevour!

The supplied cockpit suffers from the trash c ring. So the Lexon works fine and is overall the cheapest option.

What is the largest single crank you have installed?
I would like to install a 48T. Is that possible?
Are spacers needed?

I run a Riro carbon crank set, shimano sized spindle, 46T with a 2mm MUQZI spacer and still have enough clearance. That would be the absoulute max. I would run tbh.

Anyway, does someone managed to mount a Tailfin rack on this frame, using the quick release for the extender thru axle? I'm not familiar with this system, if the frame has a UDH.

I was planning on adding a notch to engage with the top cover but after giving it some thought I realized that once the cables go through the stem and the c-ring, everything lines up and then does not really move because the cables keep it all aligned.

I am also considering printing new top cap and spacers for the cockpit (See pics) so that I don't need to use the internal routing of the handle bars. I have bought the Zeno Q-Connectors (zenocycleparts dot com) and routing the cables this way will make removal easier, especially if I want to swap between the standard forks and a gravel shock. or for maintenance etc. It will be tucked quite nicely under the handlebars. Once the bars arrive I will also make a little cover that can attach under the handlebars to cover the cables. I can use the computer mount screw to attach the cover.




I can certainly look into creating a mudguard bracket. The main thing is to consider how to attach it. I think the best would be two individual clamps that attaches to the left and right seat stays and then the bridge can attach to the clamps. Once I have my frame I will start measuring.
