130 BCD Chainrings - or change cranks?
« on: February 08, 2024, 06:08:41 PM »
Hi all,

I have a running Ultegra SL, I'm pretty sure it's 6600. I'm in need of new chainrings but 130BCD is near impossible to find (and for a decent price).

There's a handful of 130 chainrings on AliExpress, but given the cost of a light crankset I'm considering whether to replace the whole unit.

What would you do?

Cheers

Yeah, you'd probably be better off changing everything.
You can get a Senicx crankset with chainrings for about 65€ (that's the price I see in the EU)  https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005817407755.html]
Or the lighter carbon Riro crankset for 130 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006481196419.html

Thanks for sending those links.
Surpsingly, there's bugger all difference in weight between the two. For a 50/34 it's only about 40 grams

Is there much feedback on shifting performance of Ax chainrings? And are chainrings generally compatible with 10/11/12 speed?

Cheers

I think you ae misinterpreting something. The riro is 570gr with the 50/34 and the Senixc is about 770gr according to a review on one of the listings. So 200gr difference.

ok then : https://aliexpress.com/item/1005005939238453.html

Also 1x only. Narrow-wide means it is made for 1x for chain retention.

I paid 10 usd on Alibaba for that (w/o shipping). It's both 110 & 130 BCD, that's smart.
I only used it on one ride (i have more bikes than time right now somehow) so far. Fit for purpose: it works :)
