New ~$110 Xcadey spider power meters spotted

I like how the bottom one fits with Shimano chainrings.



I wonder if they fixed the issues found the the Gen2. Also, why undercut their 2-3x more expensive model?

I assume the top is rechargeable and the bottom is using a CR2032 coin cell battery.

I was about to order one to test/review, but that pricing has me concerned and I'm not confident that store (which isn't XCadey) will deliver the updated version of this spider.

According to this page https://www.cyclowired.jp/news/node/392610 and Google Translate, the SN / SINO model uses USB-C charging, while the Lite model uses a button battery:

Spider-type power meters use a structure where a spider with a built-in sensor is sandwiched between the crank arm and chainring, which can affect front shifting and chainline. When using aftermarket chainrings, the full shifting performance of Shimano may not be achieved.

XCADEY developed the SINO and LITE to address this problem. They are compatible with the 110BCD 4-arm standard that fits Shimano chainrings, and the shape has been optimized to allow direct combination with Shimano chainrings. By preventing the chainring from shifting significantly from its intended position, shifting performance is ensured.

Of the two models, the SINO is lighter and easier to handle. Its most notable feature is the adoption of a USB Type-C charging terminal. Its ease of use, being able to charge with the same cable as smartphones and cycle computers, is a major advantage. It weighs approximately 95g. It is sold as a standalone spider. Compatible cranks are XCADEY, EASTON EC90, ELILEE XXE, CYBREI, and LEXON.

The LITE model, on the other hand, uses a replaceable button battery for power. Its long operating time of approximately 1,000 hours is a major advantage, eliminating the need for frequent charging. Since the battery is readily available at convenience stores, it's easy to deal with battery depletion while out and about.

The LITE will be sold as a complete crankset. It weighs approximately 120g. Compatible cranks are the same as the SINO. The price is yet to be determined.

Interesting insight into their manufacturing. Their field testing/validation is also important. Those power meters are designed for bicycles, and that's where their meters are failing.

I'd sure like to see it tested! I'm tempted to test one myself, but only the heavier "Lite" version with removable battery seems to be available, I'd want the other one.

Those two are around $110 USD, seen from my account at least. Aliexpress pricing being what it is, you might get a different price.

I was chasing a creak from my chain ring spider on my Elilee X320 crankset and decided 140 Canadian bucks for a power meter and a replacement spider was worth the risk.
I've been using the Sino Easton meter for about 700km now. No real issues so far, other than the beta firmware completely screws up all cadence and power readings. If you did about 1000 watts it would read about 320 then drop back to zero and cadence would be stuck at zero. Rolling back the firmware fixed this. So far, seems to be accurate compared to my favero assiomas. Not the most scientific testing, but hitting the same routes and segments I often do, readings are no higher or lower than what I'd expect to see. It has also fixed the creak I was chasing for the past couple seasons. In my opinion, it's well worth it.


Looks like winspace is also selling it. If I were to guess, it probably isn't made for western markets.
