LEXON Road Carbon Crankset

I just took the chance to order one from carbonbikekits. 

* 165 mm
* 24 mm axle
* spider 4x110 mm BCD

I am about to replace my Dura-Ace 172.5 mm cranks with it. Will keep the DA chainrings.
Just need to decide later on, whether I‘ll go for a spider PM or (new) Assioma.

Do you have any feedback so far? It is tempting to get this particular crankset as CBK allows for choice in spider interface.

This crankset supposedly has a q-factor of 145mm. So far I haven't ordered chinese cranksets because for some reason they have wide q-factor, but I might have a go with these.

They’re of good quality.
Weight has been spot-on.
They come well packed in a cardboard box.

Cons:
No instructions.
My 4x110 spider is not true - wobbling Dura-Ace (straight with Dura-Ace cranks) chainrings ain‘t pretty.
Support never answered any of my mails.
Took about 7-8 weeks to get delivered. Shipping was lightning-fast though.


Actually, I am running them with a Sigeyi Spider PM for Easton. This way the wobbling chain rings are nearly cured.

The installation instructions for all these cranks are basically the same from what i can see.
I just received a set of DFS Carbon cranks yesterday, and they look great—24mm titanium axle, 320g for 165mm. Everything seems good, but again, no installation instructions.

I reached out to the company, and they replied saying there are no special requirements, just use standard installation tools. Since there was no manual, I pushed a bit further, and after checking with their "tech team", they sent me some photos. The instructions they provided were basically the same as Cybrei's. I called them out on this, as I had already sent them the link for these 

I pointed out that it’s not acceptable to ship a product without proper instructions, especially since I can't install it without them. I’ll be installing these on a BSA bottom bracket, and according to the Cybrei chart, if the bottom bracket shell measures 90.5mm (as specified), I need to add a 0.5mm spacer to the drive side. If it measures wider than 91.3mm, no spacers are needed, but it can’t exceed 91.6mm. So, if there's any paint overspray on the BB, I’ll likely need to get the shell faced, oh and get some vernier callipers as well.

No instructions are definitely a downside, but my Cybrei crankset cost $500 USD, and this DFS set was only $250 USD, so it's not much of a surprise.

There does not seem to be much difference when you do a side by side but they are a slightly different shape but only noticeable up close.
Have to wait for my frame from Tan Tan so maybe at least 4-6 weeks until i can install and ride them.

How did you pay 250, their Webshop lists 369, did they increase the price ?

I've picked these cranks up but got the aluminum DUB axle, we will see if this help with this flexibility issue.

I purchase multiple items from them, including a Wheelset so some discount.
Also i paid by bank transfer more favourable exchange rate and no charges like PayPal.

Flexibility where?
I don’t see how these cranks can flex myself flex is normally through the bottom bracket area of the bike as you pedal.
What bike frame have you got?

So I feel like I should make a post on here about this.

Third ride, my lexon 24mm cranks failed catastrophically.

The bolt that holds the crank arm on the left arm sheared off at the head whilst riding; the crank arm came away still attached to my foot. I'm lucky I'm still here. The bolt is clearly made of cheap aluminium (when you hold it in your hand it's way too light).

I suggest everyone checks this bolt for stress risers or fatigue. Similarly, be careful with the torque. It says capable of 45nm. I torqued to 40 and that felt like a lot - obviously too much for this.

Can you please tell me the spec of the bolt? I would like to order the replacement and replace mine.
