Just small imperfections around, nothing major. Not a deal breaker for me on a gravel frame.

... as the headset was a bit loose, so need to fix that before I go all out.

What headset system did you use? I'm struggling to get the play out of mine right now. I think I'll just crank the top cap down and retry but it's frustrating.

I just used the one that came with the frame. I had not tightened the top cap enough, have fixed it now.

Have you cut the steerer tube enough?

Looks good! will it stay full white?
Full white and full of dirt.  ;D

yeah I cut the steerer tube down to where it sits just inside the top of the stem with the compression plug. I'll see how my ride goes today, I cranked down the top cap. I think maybe I need a shim so the plastic of the bottom dust cover doesn't rub on the frame.

kocevlo 380x100 (slight flare in the drops), I like the shape of them a lot so far but they aren't very stiff.

I've finished building G068 bikes for me and girlfriend.

They came out nice, did few hundred km already and am satisfied :)

Mine is size XL, grx800 1x11/51 (XT SGS RD cage mod), the other one is size XS, MS sword 1x11/48 with tiagra cranks, as sword ones don't come in 165mm, and i had those at hand :)

both ended up in "wee bit under 10kg" and i'm good with it, considering not-so lightweight wheelsets, and plain heavy as hell cassettes on both of them.

Overall build was straightforward, i'm glad i went with the non-fully integrated version. There were some issues with paint overflow over the holes in one of the forks, which made the brake housing routing hard, solved with some rolled sanding paper, also the FM thread in same fork broke, not sure if it was badly made or just my mishap - fixed with helicoil, probably is stronger than before the repair now.

The chameleon paint really catches the eye, especially in good light - i've had numerous folks praising the colour mid-ride, just an added bonus :)

Yeah I got lots of compliments at a local road race for the paint.
I kinda wish i went semi internal or atleast round bar stem. I'll deal with it If i need to replace headset bearings lol

I had a little bit of an issue getting the rear brake hose to go through the chainstay but it wasn't horrible.

Check that the convex bottom of your top cap isn't bottoming out on the compression plug. If they make contact, it will feel like the top cap has tightened down, but it's not applying all of the clamping force to the stack. I made this mistake on another frame, cutting the steerer tube about 1 or 2 mm lower than the stem, and it still was not enough to fully cinch down the stem and spacers -- the gap between the fork and the lower headset bearing is just a tiny bit more than my other bikes, and I worry about dirt getting in there.

Be careful with all types of rear racks that are mounted on the rear triangle tubes, it's a risk that frame will fail. The best choice would be the Tailfin with Aerorack and all its additional accessories, but the prices are the highest on the market for such a complete solution. Another option is to adapt the Ortlieb QuickRack with a thru-axle adapter.

Here is a thread on Reddit on that topic: https://www.reddit.com/r/bikepacking/comments/12vd83l/modifying_topeaks_journey_trail_thru_axle_to_fit/?share_id=2rGWcNniPOsd78H8QVfCa&utm_content=2&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1

You can also find the dedicated ORTLIEB THRU AXLE adapter here, just released some time ago: https://www.rosebikes.pl/ortlieb-thru-axle-m6-connector-adapter-thru-axle-2726722?sf=1

I have an Ortlieb rack on my touring bike and am pretty happy with it, but I am also looking forward to buying the thru-axle adapter just in case I decide to use it with my G068 frame.
I asked David about the load bearing for the rack when using the mount points and not the thru-axle. He told me that the maximum load is 6kg, which is more than a seat-pack (generally rated at 4 kg). So I am planning to get the QuickRack and mount it directly on the frame and use a ortlieb dry-pack with no side bags. I hope the frame will hold.

Hey all. Running into a low resonance/howl on my front fork… very perplexed on this one.

pad and rotor are fairly new and clean, I even tried replacing the pad and rotor with fresh set.

Fork was faced in a rudimentary way, but my caliper is pretty straight on my rotor. I had this double checked by my bike shop when I asked them to face it, and they recommended I did not mess with it because of how good it already was.

I tried torquing the axle bolt and then tightening down the grub screws for the flip chip. I am running into this in the 55mm offset position.

Originally had the OEM pads, but switched to some pink coomas.

I had the axle entering from the right side, but switched it back to the left side as it came from the manufacturer, I want to say the sound improved slightly, but it is definitely still there. When I can figure out how to upload the footage of this sound, I will.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I’m at the point where I don’t really like riding my bike anymore… it’s ultra frustrating. China is on holiday so David isn’t getting back to me at the moment.

Are you sure it's not your wheel bearings? Awhile back I had humming sound from my front wheel and I found out my bearings needed replacement. If you're not seeing any disc rub, I'd definitely check the bearings.

Did you replace the rotor with an identical one? It might just be an unfortunate case of the resonant frequencies of the rotor matching those of the fork, and switching to a different rotor design can fix it. If the issue persists with a different rotor, then try changing the fork offset (i.e. swap the flip chip) to see if that helps, as it will change the fork's frequency slightly. If that doesn't help, then try swapping pad brands/compounds, I've had good luck with SwissStop pads. And if that doesn't help, I can only suggest trying out different brakes altogether to see if it's a caliper issue... but that's pretty expensive.

I am, they’re a brand new set of wheels.

Thanks for the detailed message!

Different rotorset, I actually tried two different kinds of rotors, both ended up, producing the same sound after a few minutes of breaking and riding.

The fork offset recommendation is hard to hear, as I bought this frame set for its ability to run the 55 mm for giant tires in the front, or the 51 for your standard 45 mm tire…

I do happen to have another force AXS, I think my last ditch effort will be to swap out that caliper. gosh what a headache.

I’m hoping David has some more info for me or can help in someway when they return from their holiday.
