I'm planning my first build, and the first frameset I considered was LTK268-D. After reading this topic, I'm having second thoughts. Is 268 dated compared to this frame?

I don't mind the price difference between the two, and according to this thread QC is great.

I have compared both and there are other users on here with direct experience which is highly valuable, but I don't see why one is dated over the other. I would however distinguish between the Velobuild 268 and Long Teng 268, the latter seeming to offer much higher quality. Clearance wise similar, weight wise - the Speeder might have a slightly lighter frame but not fork. The speeder however has more agressive geometry, which didn't work for me.

Just placed an order for LTK268. Ultimately i like the look of this  frame  more.  Also as you said, geometry is more manageable.

Try FM096 from Mondince which is pretty much the same as Longteng. Though they only have size 52 at the moment but you can ask of they have new sizes now

Thanks for the tip! So are Mondince manufactured by Long Teng, or how's that connection made?

I don't know if which is which in terms of manufacturing their frames but it is confirmed by Jack Ding from Mondince that indeed they have partnership. You can take a look at the listing of Mondince/Angle and Longteng and you'll see the same frames being offered.

Anyone tried to mount 35mm tires? How's the clearance? I am planning to use it for (not too muddy) cyclocross because I want to sell my older TCX.

I have 32c tires that measure 34mm on my rims and that's as wide as i would go in the rear. In the front you can probably get away with 38

Maybe a small update which some might not have seen.

You can now get the frame in T47 with the nicer layup without any MOQs and there is also a zero offset seatpost, which makes this frame quite nice.

Welp. Last time I asked is they need MOQ of 10 for T47 version. Interesting to see how the T47 is different from bb86 version

I'll take bb86 over t47 any day. It's lighter and easier to maintain.

What's the rise on the bars? It looks like the schematic says -10 deg? Is that right? I'm trying to find a bar with more than the usual 7 or 8 degree negative rise without reverting to a non integrated option.

I have my bike for over a year now and about 8000km. The bike is excellent with a couple of caveats. I've built a lot of chinese frames at this point (2 velobuilds, lightcarbon, spcycle) a this one is above all of them by a huge margin in terms of quality but it's a bit more expensive as well. Ive never owned any of the premium chinese frames so don't really know how it would compare.
some minor problems I've had are clear coat overspray in the headset that i had to clean up and a creaky seatpost. I haven't solved the seatpost problem completely and it keeps coming back. My saddle is set up almost as high as it can go so there's quite a bit of leverage that is contributing to creaking.
Not a huge fan of the handlebar too. Finish quality is fantastic but it's a little heavy in my opinion and a shape does not work for me: drops are too round and I can't find a comfy hand position, also not a fan of a short reach.
I switched from a super comfy endurance bike so the frameset felt quite harsh initially and I could not find a saddle that would work with this geo but this problem was solved since.

Frame is great. would buy again but without a cockpit
