Both my TanTan and Yishun/LC frames, which i paid for myself, didn't have any of those flaws. Yikes. Thankfully those flaws should not have no affect on safety or riding experience if the tolerances are correct.

Funny how we make concessions for brands we like and scrutinize other brands with impunity if we don't. Personally I would be disappointed in those flaws considering how much Speeder gets propped up around here. But I wouldn't complain and contact Speeder about it.

I'm French, complaining for me is an art de vivre.
But even on these pictures i dont understand what i'm looking at.
By all means, if the BB is indeed delaminating, speak w Justin, but if you provide him w evidence, please do better than what you shared so far, because i dont see the problems you see on these 2 pictures, and it's probably best to hit him first with the best quality evidence you can provide, as opposed to a blurry picture that's a cropped bit of a wider photo.

You're right about the picture quality. Here is a better one.
I am already in discussions with him. He said the engineers will review it this week.

Ah, now I see! It does look bad! Let us know what Justin says. I wonder if you couldn't just pull on that flake and shear it off and move on. That piece is probably a fraction of a gram, if the rest of the area is resin infused properly it's probably nothing.

I will not pull on anything at the moment, even if it is a top cosmetic layer.
It does seem a bit odd that Justin needs days to reach to the engineers in the same plant.

In my non-expert opinion there does seem to be poor compaction of the layers in the thicker areas like BB and headset.
Let's see what Justin says.

Think I have enough time spent on the bike to draw intermediate summary about the frame and my experience with Speeder  :)

The communication with Justin was sometimes delayed (got a reply after 4-5 days), but it was always clear, concise and unambiguous. The frame production took longer then I expected, but I also asked for some customization, which is probably uncommon for B2C side of Speeder. I asked for gloss over carbon marble finish for frame+fork and matte for everything else. Everything arrived packed in a foam wrap and bubble packages without any damage.

Now to the frame. From manufacturing point of view everything was pretty much perfect - everything that has to be round is round, seatpost fits perfectly, BB area, HT area, caliper mounts were neatly faced, thru axles fits nice and sturdy. My mechanic's feedback is the same - everything was done very nicely, assembly was problems-free.

Riding quality completely meets my expectation - I wanted a race bike with nice balance between stiffness and compliance with specific geometry that enables my aero position for extended periods of time. It is quite stiff at BB and HT area, seatpost and seat stays absorb bumps well and after long ride on bad roads I don't return home beaten up like on a full-on aero brick.
As for speed and aerodynamics I don't want to do any specific testing but my position resembles my aero tuck on my older CF5 Merida Reacto. I am somewhere around 1-1,5 kmh faster at my steady state long flat tempo efforts (~300-340W@40+kmh). So in no way the bike is slow!
Above in the thread there were concerns regarding the bike maneuverability. I can attest, the bike is more nimble then Light Carbon LCR0X, which has shorter wheelbase. Longer wheelbase is compensated by steeper headtube and generally reminds my above mentioned Reacto.

With the mix of Ultegra and 105 Di2, Bigrock Ti axle cranks, Elite Edge wheels, 2nd gen The one handlebars and last generation ZTTO Ultimate monoblock steel cassette, the bike wights slightly above 7,5 kg in size 535 including pedals, cages, computer and Varia mounts. That being said, if you choose your components with the weight in mind, 6.8 kg build can be achieved quite easily.

I must mention UDH as another cool feature. Within the first week of riding I managed to crash badly and bent my hanger in the process ;D Quite easily, I have found the replacement at my LBS on the very next day.

Overall, I can totally recommend the frame - if it fits your needs and is appealing to the eye, go for it.

I thought the 55d didn’t ship to Germany?
What are those bottle cages :) are those really the trek ones?
Bike looks great. I’d say the painting isn’t that special. That’s also how I got my 48D. And that was more or less default colorway (either matte or glossy)

I don't think they ship to Germany, just wanted ironic but not screaming reference to the Chinese origin of the bike :)
Your 48D also has marble finish under the coating or it's plain black? Because I meant marble finish (matte or gloss) as a fine touch to the simple finish.

The cages are Cannondale Gripper with Regrip aero bottles. I choose them over the Trek ones because 1) they are significantly cheaper; 2) opening of the bottles is not stupidly narrow; 3) it is possible to fit standard bottles in the cage.

If someone is interested in a full SC-R55D in size 51 (I am 178 cm) with Ultegra Di2 and XM carbon wheels - 1000 km, send me a private message.

I sell it for buying a Time Trial bike for an Ironman.

PS : Sorry for the off topic.

PS 2 : France and Belgium but also Europe with shipping.

Can you post a closeup of the effect then I answer properly ;)

I just asked Justin if there's a T47 version of this frame and it exist. I'll ask what sizes are available.

Well, after about 1300 miles on the speeder, I'm going to be upgrading to a SL8.  Got hit by a car a few weeks ago, and the insurance settlement is buying me a new bike.  No injuries, only carbon damage - Zipp 808 rear toast, frame and bars impacted, but able to ride home.

I've had zero complaints about the bike, and haven't lined up at a race without someone asking about it.  Justin was also great to work with when purchasing.  Would buy again if/when I'm in the market for another Chinese frame.

I am actually using the mount from my old giant propel 2024. Not the exact same mount, but its working :)
Perhaps you have 3D model file for it? The only one I could find is from ridiculously overpriced sloperoad.com

Here. I haven't seen such finish from any other brand but it seems standard for this frame.

Elite also does this finish on some of their wheels. I have a matte version and I do like it but there's a couple of things that annoy me:
 1) some parts of the frame are not raw but painted black. I think they spray paint joints and parts of the frame where carbon looks kinda ugly. I personally would rather have ugly carbon showing that just black paint. It is very obvious and does not look great especially in the direct sunlight when carbon weave reflects it but painted parts remain just black. It looks the worst on the fork where the entire crown and bottom part where the dropouts are connected are painted.
 2) people who see the frame for the first time tend to try to rub or wipe the frame which annoys me a lot  ;D
 3) my girlfriend hated it and keeps remind me how horrible it looks  >:(

Yeah my 48D has the same effect/finish.
