Why was the seat post made disproportionately skinny compared to the frame on these? Sticks out like a sore thumb.

It doesn't look disproportionally skinny in real life and I'd guess for comfort and weight.

This is a GT we just build for a customer who is an okder rider and really wanted a high stack position.

Cool thing is he rode it home from the delivery point (Nijmegen) to Kiel (Germany) in 1 day. 500km on new bike day, gotta respect that!
