Sander, have you removed an installed sl8 expander? Have seen the "pry with a bolt" trick on youtube, wondering if that's the only way to get it out.

No I have not as I don’t use the supplied expanders.
I use the lightweight types.
My mechanic unscrews it as far as you can and then you need to hit the bolt to dislodge the wedge but I am aware it is a

Yes that is correct pretty much the same. Obviously the black part has to be cut to size and the edges files down one the steerer tube is cut son it fits and does not touch the internal brake cable

Does anyone know if the sl8 copy sold by yohobike is the same as the tartan/seraph and if the yohobike site is legit?

No one knows wheee these frames come from. And Tan Tan claim to manufacture theres.
Yoho bike has been around for a while.

There are loads of seller personally I would not buy form these traders.
They are middle men I think.

It would be a tight fit. I run 32mm tires, and there is not that much clearance left, as you can see in the photo.

edit: its not on the photo but the tire clearence to the left chainstay is really really small i dont think you can fit any bigger tyre on there.

When you were building up your bike, did you have any issues with the internal cable routing?

I followed the routing in the SL8 manual, but I think the rear hydraulic hose might be a bit too short inside the frame. When I turn the bars to the right (from the front of the bike), they spring back to centre like the hose is too tight.

I’m guessing I need to push more hydraulic hose into the frame to give it some slack.

Hope that makes sense — or if anyone else has come across this and can help, feel free to jump in!

I have read back through the thread but cannot immdeiately see that any buyers have set up a 1x groupsent on the frame. Ideally, i would be using the antiipated Force 1x13 XPLR due to be announed shortly. Though that probably means UDH.

Hey Sander, nope, I didn't have this issue.
What my friend did is with everything assembled to fully turn the bars in the opposite direction of where the back brake hose is coming out (in my case, full left from the rider's perspective), and then we cut the hose based on that. Because in this position, it should be at its longest that is needed. I did have an issue with internal cable damper that would scoot up the brake line into the headset and squeek whenever i turned left. I fixed it by pushing it further down and its been all good since.

Then you must have overlooked my built (page 52 and 58). I built it with Wheeltop shifting and Ekar cassette, which makes 1-by 13-speed systes possible without needing UDH and at a much lower pricepoint (which might change when 13-speed force is available).

The SP-R088 is an alternative with UDH. We have both frames "in the family". Both are nice and light.
