What would be the reason to get it out if you're always gonna mount the TA with the washer? Serious question bc mine is also stuck in there but I figured its a non-issue. Im sure Im wrong.

I already started to round the head of the thru-axle, so was thinking about getting a replacement so I don't get it forever stuck by not being able to insert a hex wrench in. SO looked at new thru-axles, but the ones I got from Ali have the washer stuck on them as well. So two washers... either take the washer out of the frame, or the washer off the thru-axle.

If using other Thru axles the washer may not be compatible, most likely it will not if using overfast axles

How have you managed to  round the head? max sure you get a good quality hex to fit too loose and it will round and it does not need to be done up to 13Nm, 9Nm will be fine

Did you like the pass quest chainrings? I don't like the movement from small to big with those, it works but needs alot more throw than with shimano :s

They were fine nothing wrong with them.
Like everyone says want perfect shifting stick with Shimano. The shifting on these rings works its just not as crisp that all but they work

Has anyone managed to fit a non tantan seatpost into their X68? Hoping to find something in 0 offset rather than the -15 that it ships with.

I’m based in the EU and would like your opinion on which site I should use to purchase this bike. https://www.tantanbicycles.com/ or https://tantanbikes.com/ which one is reliable? Another concern: I noticed an issue with a cracked fork (page 54). When I showed it to Tantan sales representative, he explained that the fork has been upgraded from 320g to 380g. Is that true? One site show full build 7,4kg, other 7,2kg. And lastly, the shipping cost is 300 euros, and they don’t want to reduce the price, stating it's door to door service.

Hi! I ordered my frame from TANTAN on the 18.7.2025 incl. handlebar, fork and shipping to Austria for 925 USD. Till today it is not shipped.

As to confirm the bike weight but there are always mistake in adverts it’s only 200g not worth worrying about.

Fork issue has been sorted yes.
Shipping is $300usd including taxes  due to the fact you are ordering a full bike and the price sound about right frame is $150usd

How many days were you quoted?
Manufacturing times are working days not including weekends or any public. Holidays.
Form 18th till today is 24 working days.  last time I heard it was 30 working days for a frame

I ordered on 14 July. It shipped on 20 Aug. Because I'm in the US, to reduce the tariffs it's getting put on a ship to California, then UPS Ground to me. I expect to receive it by late Sept.

Someone deeper in this thread customized the saddle camp rails on their seatpost. Does anyone remember what page that was on, or who did it? I've tried searching but probably screwed that up.

Me I done some modifications.
Cut the post down the post bought a carbon cradle, replaced with titanium bolts and aluminium yokes/clamps

I did the same. I will caution that the zrace yoke that I used (and drilled slightly oversized) snapped in half recently when tightening the front bolt. I wasn't using a torque wrench but doubt I was over 6nm.
There are numerous sources on ali now for carbon top plates and I might be tempted to try one of those.

Good old Aluminium will keep an eye on mine! where did it snap right through the middle?
Also if you can send me links to alternatives I have see Ti option which will obviously be better

Hello all! New user here, and after reading through this whole thread (took a few days!) I pulled the trigger and ordered a full build with the ultegra gruppo. Basically wanted a newish carbon road bike (have a 2021 aeroad with 650b wheels --yep small guy here lol) and also from my quick and non-exhaustive research I couldn't find another complete build with ultegra for the price that Tantan has (on a very popular frame design to boot!).

Also the plan further down the line if anything were to happen to this x68 bike frame is to move the groupset over to my ti road bike which came with 105 di2 (so it will be an upgrade if/when that happens). In any case, it's now time to play the waiting game I suppose cos I placed the order just a few days ago. Will report back when I do, and how my rides are with it. Cheers!

Tidbits: ordered a size 49, chameleon white, 165mm cranks and 380x90 bars.
