Hi All,
I have a fake SL8 from Taiwan Eisen. It was one of the first released in November 2024 and the fork is the light one (321gr, uncut, naked carbon finish).
No issue so far but, considering some of the incidents, I would like to replace the fork with the new reinforced one.
I have asked to Vivian from TanTan but she does not want to sell me only the fork! (I do not know why...).
Any idea on how to get the reinforced fork ?

I also need to buy a new handlebar, 38X110mm, "Roval-like" style. Where can I found a good one ?

p.s.: if someone is ordering a frame from TanTan and the delivery Country is italy, I could add my fork and contribute to the delivery costs.

I have a 380x110cmbar from Tan Tan Available as I have swapped to Darimo style 380x120cm.  I'm surprised they will not sell you one its Tan Tan.  She give you a reason?

Did you communicate via email on the initial purchase?
I get that they may not want to sell a fork to someone that didn't buy a frame. Not sure why, but I'm guessing they've got a decent reason.

On the topic of handlebars.

Since Tantan wasn't really forthcoming after having messed up and shipped the wrong handlebar I treated myself (and the bike) to Light Carbon's HBR17 in size 360x100. Looks very much like Ullicyc T4 Ultra but with a 3-bolt solution for the computer mount. Weighed in at 309g naked and 351g with top cap, bolt and computer mount - including gopro mount underneath for light. I asked nicely and the supplied an adapter for SL8->their spacer.

Still waiting for the bar wrap but I have done about 190km on 2 rides and so far I like it. Much prefer the 360mm instead of the 400 that Tantan shipped. But most of all I really like the looks and how that curvy little thing is just waiting for a pair of steady hands...

Nice bars! I was debating those also but went with the T4 bc I really like the no external clamp bolts around the steerer. BTW the T4 does have 3 bolts for computer mount but its two below and one out front.

We communicated via Whatsapp and she immediately asked for the prove I bought the frame from them..

I've fit 32c GP5000 on my genuine Tarmac SL8 with the same XM Carbon Speed wheels with 26mm internal 34 external no problem. The tires stretch to around 34mm at the rim.

For those looking to order an X68, here is my journey so far.

As I posted in another thread, I ordered the X68 from TanTan on June 26th and the frame was delivered on August 19th.   Roughly 7 weeks from order to delivery. It was delivered via UPS, as of yet, no additional cost for customs or tariffs.  $719 for the frame kit and $160 for shipping.

The quality control (or lack thereof) for my frame/fork is questionable at best. There is a scratch on the right fork leg and small area on the seat tube just under the seatpost hole that didn’t get thorough paint coverage.

In the grand scheme of things, these are minor.  The major annoyance is that the handlebar/stem does not fit around the steerer tube. From what I can tell, the diameter of the stem opening is undersized.  I have an EXS Aerover handlebar/stem that does fit the steerer tube. The fork is the heavier fork, I think it weighed in at 406 grams.

Also, the clearance in the drive side chainstay for the Di2 cable (installing 12 speed Ultegra groupset) to the rear derailleur is very tight and took some effort to get the cable through. I haven’t tried running the brake hose through the non-drive side chainstay yet, so fingers crossed.

None of these are dealbreakers, but buyer beware.

Shipping was $160 I think, which included taxes and tariffs at the time. But I ordered before the major tariffs kicked in. I had zero issues with shipping. My box looked pretty good when it arrived and everything was wrapped well in foam sheets.

So if there us still shipping offer with taxes are customs now in the US being more thorough checking shipments?

So here's a short update on my bike:

Ordered in march
Wrong painting by tantan
Month long delays until new paint job
Broken fork (light version)
Another 5 weeks since exciting time for the new fork which is not even painted

Despite that, the seat post does not fit into the frame, it's too loose sideways, but i can buy an OEM one


To sum it up: Would never buy again the frame and never again at tantan
