This is something I have been looking at lot at. In terms of specs needed to get there:
- Rims: under 450g at 60mm+ depth
- Hubs and spokes option 1: 20H Hworks hubs + carbon spokes
- Hubs and spokes option 2: Sub 240g 6bolt or 220g CL + Alpina Hyperlight Aero, Sapim C-Xray Super
Here are the rim options I have found
- Nextie Wave CRX 6560 wave / Elavo Carbon Store (Aliexpress): 430g, $170USD (11.11)
- Easdon Fat Gravel 60mm: 450g (aliexpress), $142USD (11.11)
Here are the metal spoke based hub options:
- THR Industries R3 6 bolt: ~240g: ~$450-$500 USD
- NonPlus Gravel 6bolt: ~240g: $700+USD
- THR Industries RX CL: ~200g: not fully sure, expect $900-$1k USD
- NonPlus Road CL: ~200g: >$900USD
For complete wheel sets, which is where I am leaning after looking at these costs—these aren’t quite right on point but are pretty close.
- 0011/THRIndustries: If you want a 60+mm IMO, there is both a 66mm R3 Super Light (1320-1330g with the t1100 rims and Sapim CXRay Super—still looking into cost) and one made with the RX hubs at 1275g but these are ~$2000USD. The rims are 23mm hooked internal, 31mm external at the widest part. No idea on the hooks, but these seem really close to the Scope Artech. 6.
- XM Carbon Speed D50CU-33 with the 20H carbon spokes: <1200g and 26mm IW
- Fitlite AR68 w/Hworks hub and carbon spokes: 68mm deep, 34mm widest pt, 22mm IW and 28mm EW at the hooks, 1370g: $1200 and with 11.11 coupons and discounts this should drop down to just over $1K
At the speeds I can hit on the flats and give my light weight, I would likely run 28mm GP5000 TT TR tires on 66mm 0011 or a mix of the 29mm Aero111 and 30mm S TR on the XM carbon speeds. I would expect the 0011 to be a bit faster but these choices are pretty close. Because the TT TR tires are lighter and 6 bolt rotors marginally lighter, I would expect 0011 R3 system weight to be within 20-30g of the RX and the XM carbon speed wheels.
