Yes, those shorts look legit. I am trying to buy some now because it looks like they're on some kind of super sale, but the only option is "buy now" and not any kind of "add to cart" which is weirding me out. I've tried to link to them several ways and it is pretty well set up to only allow you to "buy now". Not sure what that's all about, but I don't want to just buy 1 of 1 kind.
Weird, I get the add to cart if I click the link on my phone (and it opens in the app)

Whatever was going on has changed now. I can finally "add to cart" and it has the same pricing as before, so... all good now. For $6, why not get a couple?!

Anybody know of any shorts with a smooth (not crinkled) waistband? Like the Ten Thousand shorts here: https://www.tenthousand.cc/pages/compare-shorts

Rexchi free belt pro clone - 7e

I assumed I lost my naked clone for 3 months until I found it again last week so I bought another one and I actually prefer it for most cases. Compared to the original it lacks the pole/vest loops and is 20g heavier (at 1/10th of the price) but it holds stuff better than the naked belt imo. Also wish it had a key loop but other than that it's really good.

Jungle king 15L vest/backpack - 18e but i think i got a special early bird type of deal

I don't run far enough to warrant such a big pack but I mostly use it hiking when my 8L salomon pack is feeling too small. I still used it on short runs to get a feel for it or to commute
Overall very happy with it. It's only got one size but I think the adjustment system is good enough to fit a large variety of people. It's comfortable for me, finish is good and design is like if they mindlessly shoved every feature from competitors into one bag - tunnel pocket, mesh, strap attachments, front zipped pockets etc. Nonetheless quite well made
It fits the aforementioned 600ml flasks just fine and 15L sounds about right.
Only improvement that comes to mind - the plastic buckles and straps all feel quite cheap and unnecessarily thick. Could be easily modded with better buckles and thinner straps, might do that. The bladder buckle rattles when running so I cut it off

TLDR: An easy recommendation for hiking and a great value option for running with a lot of stuff, but might need to replace cheap buckles if noisy

Not really, I think it's trial and error like most chinese clothes/ When in doubt, size down. Stretch is good but the tighter the better for belts.
My hips are ~90cm and I got size L which is good for me

Thanks for the recommendation on the 2-in-1 shorts. Feels illegal to get something that cheap that I would pay 5-10 times as much if I went to my local sports store.

Can confirm, I got mine in and have run with them a few times and these things are pretty great. One of the pair I ordered had some kind of issue with a pocket that is weirdly sewn too small, but it's not really a big deal. Otherwise, I agree that I would have gladly paid 4x the price of these from some local store and still walked away happy. They're the best shorts I have for running.

Other carbon plated running shoe options

Li-Ning Men FEIDIAN 4 CHALLENGER - 105 USD
IRUNSVAN (various models)  - 65 USD upwards
XTEP - Xtep 360X  -105 USD upwards

Anyone have any experince of these ones?
leaning towards IRUNSVANsee attached

I have IRUNSVAN Speed 3.0 Pro, which according to their descriptions is the model for fast paces. After using them for a while, the foam feels too firm, and the energy return isn't as noticeable.

I also used Li-Ning Feidian 3.0 Challenger. For medium-fast paces, they feel better than the Irunsvan, but the heel isn't as stable.

Before these, I used the ONEMIX PACEBEAM, and I still find them far superior to the other two, even better than the Nike Zoom Fly 3. The energy return is instantly noticeable.

The only problem I encountered with them was that the metatarsal foam flattened significantly after using them on gravel. I stopped using them after about 500 km, but they probably would have lasted much longer if I had only used them on asphalt.

I started running a bit more at the start of the year (mostly a cyclist).
So disclaimer, the only other running shoes i've used are older Ascics shoes, and more recently Nike Pegasus 40's.

Picked up the OneMix Pace Beams based on the recommendations here because I got roped into doing a 10 mile race.
And they do feel great! You just want to run fast with these shoes. I only wear them when doing faster sessions, and they still are great with about 150km of running on them.
For reference, i'm not that fast, my 5k time is 23 minutes and ran the 10 miles in 1h20min. So faster runners might benefit more of the carbon plated shoes, but even for me, they feel great.

After the event, I also bought the OneMix Bumper Elite 2's for easy running. These ones I don't like as much. The cushioning under the heal is really soft, which in turn makes it a bit unstable under my foot. So I don't use these as often, and run more with my Nike Pegasus shoes.

Exact same (almost same 5k pace, as well, lol). Mostly a cyclist, run some but not a lot, and haven't used a lot of fancy running shoes by western brands. I also have the Pace Beams and your experience echos mine.

Do you have a link for the Bumper Elite 2? I have the original Bumper Elite and I quite liked it. It wasn't nearly as fast as the Pace Beams, but I found it very comfortable. When I wore that pair out, I replaced it with a pair of Onemix Meeto, which I thought had a similar sole. They don't have the same sole and I don't like the Meeto quite as much for running.

looking at a few shoes from china
361 deg flame 4 mix

being top of the list and a few of what Crago suggests here

namely

Do-win
361
chow down

originally bought onemix in the same size that i normally take 43(8.5UK) which turned out to be at least a full size larger .
they want you to base your sizing off your foot length(mine is 265mm).
disputed the order and they wouldnt refund unless i shipped back- cost almost the same as the shoes to return them.
this is my main hesitency when thinking about buying shoes abroad.

Have been wearing these for the past few weeks. Absolutely love them. I’m used to running long miles in New Balance 1080s and have SuperComp Elite v4 as a race day shoe. My feet are flat and wide and in comparison, these are pretty narrow in the mid-foot. But my mid-foot spills over as the upper is flexible and there’s no rubbing etc. Have not ran further than 10 miles in these yet, so can’t attest to anything beyond that, but up to 10 miles, they’re pretty nimble. Find them great for tempo runs.

Does anyone have experiences/recommendations for winter/thermal running tights suitable for <5° Celsius?

I ended up getting this one, albeit a bit cheaper than it's now. So far I got 4-5 runs in between about -4°C and +5°C and am pleasantly surprised - fits the temperature range perfectly, feels comfortable and the pockets hold keys and phone safe enough.
There's another, more expensive listing with a sizing chart that seems to be accurate, maybe the tiniest bit on the large size.
