I'd seen the instructions in the sales ad description...but I wanted to know from the users of this forum how much they tightened it.

For now, I've tightened it to 6Nm (7mm steel rails)...today I'm doing my first test ride, hoping nothing will move.

Today the first ride with the Spcycle 0mm offset seatpost...no saddle movement, but I can confirm the discomfort of the clamping system: during the ride I stopped to adjust the saddle angle, but despite completely unscrewing the screw and giving the saddle a few blows, I was unable to unlock the two wedges!

Just checked mine - Length is 164mm, with a thread length of 16mm and pitch of M12x1.0mm. I believe the earlier models came with tapered fittings so those might be a little different.

Oh, and I should probably say hello - long time lurker but first time posting.

Signed up to the forum a little over a decade ago but never posted. I'm from a trials and MTB background, finally getting around to a road build many years later.

Took delivery of an R088 today, which will be built up once the final few elements arrive. 105 Di2, Elitewheels Pro 2.0 50mm, GP5000, etc. Frame was a good chunk heavier than expected, but coming from a back catalogue of full sus MTBs and bombproof street trials rigs, plus a stint on a 9.5kg Trek roadie, it's nothing to worry about really.

Got the hoses and wiring routed through the frame over lunch. Little frustrating with the battery as many others have found - the rivnuts for the bottle cage and front mech direct mount protrude far enough into the seat tube that it's problematic. All appears ok with some padding foam and a ziptie handle to pull it out again (thanks to whoever posted that in this thread for the tip!). Waiting on wheels and a few minor fittings to get things buttoned up. Alu bar and stem for starters to work on the fitment, though I'd like to swap that out for an integrated carbon setup once I'd figured out where I want it to sit.

You are following the same path as many of us with all the components, so you are in good hands.
My bike with the same component as you just clocked 6k this year alone.
Just a little tips for the handlebar, be sure to cut a little bit more the brakes line you will need it for the one piece routing

The lines are currently both a foot longer than needed, and i plan to run some horrifically overlength hoses until I've got the bar and stem sizing dialed in. Won't be pretty, but it'll be methodical! Starting off with a 400mm bar and a 100mm stem. Should get me in the rough ballpark (I'm 183cm and the frame's a 56cm) and so long as I keep some additional length there, swapping between a few stems and maybe a set of bars to figure out what fits best shouldn't be too bad.

The old Trek I've been using in the meantime is a 60cm frame and far too big for me (was inherited from my dad, 6'3", about 12 years ago) so I've got an idea of the upper limit from that, but some time to be spent getting it right.

I'm a numbers/engineering geek, so far more thought has been put into a lot of this all than is probably healthy

I have summarized the exchange I had with an spcycle representative on Taobao (as shown in the image). It seems the mold for the "r088" was created by spcycle in 2024, and for a time, they manufactured it as a "closed-mold" product. Later, it became an "open-mold" frame, and some of the molds were apparently sold to Tantan—which, as you know, is the TT-X70.

Therefore, it seems spcycle is not just a retailer.

The reverse case also seems true? Tantan had the TT-X65 for a long time before spcycle came out with the "brand new" R066.

I’ve already ridden over 1,500 km. So far everything has been working perfectly, apart from an initial issue with a clicking sound coming from the seatpost, which I eliminated by applying carbon assembly paste to the individual components. The LTWOO groupset has also been performing flawlessly so far.

Hi there,

I have been riding my bike for 3700 km and I am still perfectly happy. But, recently I noticed something strange. When I put my front wheel in to the fork (without axl) there is now a small gap between the end cap and the fork (see photo). It seems that the fork would have widened somehow. Whe I screw the axl in everything works perfectly. What do you think? What could be the reason and what could I do about it? Should I be worried or even replace the fork? I asked Spcycle about it but I did not receive an answer so far (3 days).

Edit: It seems like the axle is getting a bit jammed against the part that goes through the fork behind the bolt head.

Edit II: I just received my new Ican FL50II wheels. They seem to fit ab bit better an I can screw in without any jamming, albeit the distance between the ends of the fork still seems a bit to wide. When I put the wheel in, it doesn't just snap right in. I have to gently maneuver it into the right position. I measured the distance between the ends of the fork, it is 101 mm - is this tolerable?

Finished up another build, this time for a colleague at work! She spotted a set of pink sidewalk tires, and that immediately sparked the entire color scheme. I think it turned out great.

Unlike my last project, this one isn't fully internally routed. It was honestly such a breath of fresh air—so much easier and faster to build up, even with a full mechanical groupset!
