I'm seeing mostly basic paint jobs on here. Does anyone have experience with a bit more complex paint designs and adding logo's? I wonder what that process is like and if it's decent quality.

I'm tempted to go for a one part UD carbon gloss look and one part chameleon green. In my head it looks amazing, but if not done properly I rather go for the save (and cheaper) option.

I got my frame yesterday. I opted for metallic blue (Number 2) with a gradient to black-carbon and it looks very good actually. Haven't found any big mistakes as far as the paint job goes.
I don't have full frame pictures, will post some once the build is finished:)

Hi, I ordered the raw frame without paint/clear coat and had it painted locally.....you can still ask Spcycle if they are also able to replicate something similar (obviously with an extra cost).

Hi everyone,

As promised, here are some pictures of the completed build. And since we are 53 pages in and because my problems were roughly the same as the ones already listed I will give a quick summary for everyone who doesn't want to read through all of these, like I did.

• Delivery: My frame was packaged well and arrived ca. 4 weeks after ordering, which is pretty fast tbh. Communication was good, nothing to complain here. The frame had a good layer of protection, so even though the package was pretty beat up, the frame was perfectly fine.
• Building: To preface, I have never build road bike before. The only thing I did was change the rear and front derailleur on my hard tail. My skill level is at best mid.
  So what problems did I face? Since I decided to go with an ultegra di2 I had the known issue, that my battery wouldn't fit in the post because inside of the frame is a thicker area to protect the seatpost from going in to deep. My solution was to wrap a metal rod with roughly 1cm diameter with sanding paper and scrap off 2-3 mm inside.
  After that everything went pretty smooth. My bottom bracket fitted perfectly, wiring went smooth and the axles didn't have any play. (This was an issue with earlier frames).
  My second issue was mounting the rear brake. I just couldn't get the alignment right until I decided to take a closer look and see, that the paint overlapped onto the mounting area. Once I scraped this off, the alignment was and is better.
  Third issue was the front derailleur mount. And this was the worst one. I just couldn't understand why I seemingly wasn't able to align it until I realized, that the whole mount is misaligned. My solution was to CAREFULLY bend the mounting part. Do not bend to much because then the FD won't fit anymore!
  Other than that the built was pretty smooth actually
• (Rookie) Mistakes I did: Biggest one so far? Mounting the shifters and installing bar tape before sitting down and testing. Of course the shifters are to far down and now I have to redo the tape.
  Other than that a few small ones. I didn't realize that you don't need to buy the pin to press into the braking hose. You just remove the pre installed one after cutting the line. Then I had to cut my stem twice, because I measured wrong. But that has nothing to do with the frame.
• Parts I used:
  Wheels: CSC 50x25mm with 54t ratchet and ceramic bearings(very happy with those)
  Handlebar: Lexon thin line (Installation was ok, but I still have some play where the handlebar "meets" the frame. Any tips are welcome)
  Groupset: Ultegra DI2. (Just amazing.)
  Bottom bracket: Ultegra
  Pedals: Time Xpresso 7 ( had those lying around from a bike I had two years ago)
  Saddle: Ryet 3d printed(first impression very good, but time will tell)
  Bar tape: HXH Bike store Carbon fiber...(Don't. It's just not good)
  Tires: MAXXIS High road tubeless (very very good)
  Weight all in: 7,7kg
  

Today I also did my first ride of ca. 30km which was very good. This bike is fast and quite agile. I love in a pretty hilly region and climbing is loads of fun. Im also on the heavier side with 185cm and 85-90kg (didn't weigh myself in ages) and I didn't recognize any flex etc. I chose frame size 56 which fits.

So yeah, I'm very happy I chose to do this build instead of buying something or Jobleasing.

You don't need that part. It's redundant.
The carbon fork has an inbuilt crown race.

100% I own the bike, I didn't use it.
Others have posted in this thread that they messaged SP Cycle and they said it's not needed.
For peace of mind feel free to message them.
I expect they buy a generic headset applicable for their frames which also includes the unnecessary crown race.

The R088 Fork has a “built in crown race”. (So you dont need that Part)
To be honest; this has been mentioned a lot of times before in this topic. For someone new to bike building I would recommend you to read the whole topic. The front derailleur hanger will probably be the next thing that causes you problems..

I've been following the discussion from the first pages...it seems to me that the problem with the front derailleur hanger is "recent."
Is it possible that the problem only affects the "updated" frames and not the previous ones?
I don't think anyone who bought the first version of the R088 has reported any problems with the front derailleur hanger.
Am I right?

Question: Is the front derailleur fixing bolt generally included with the frame or with the groupset?
I don't think I saw it with the frame, and since I bought a used groupset, the fixing bolt wasn't included (whoever sold me the groupset told me the bolt wasn't included with the new groupset he purchased, so he used the one that he already had).
