Just here to give a little update on my bike. I own the frame since end of february now and rode >2200km and a ton of elevation. I'm super happy with the bike. It was giving me zero issues during the whole time. My recent highlight was a five day trip to france using the bike. I did roughly 10.000 meters of elevation during this time and climbed Alpe d'Huez, Col de la Croix de Fer, Col du Sabot and many more. The bike handled it extremely well. It is more built like an allrounder bike and not optimized for climbing but i think with shallower wheels the frame offers potential to build a pretty light climber. I don't regret going for this frame at all and would always buy it again. For me and my needs it's probably still the most interesting chinese road bike frame at the moment. Roughly 2200€ for this bike with carbon frame, carbon wheels, electronic shifting and powermeter still feels like such an amazing deal and probably beats all western pre built bikes.

Thanks for your colour suggestions. They are good ones but I think I made up my mind now about glossy black. I have been back and forwards with different colours and finishes and I think I'll stick to what I know to avoid disappointments.
I am planning on putting some decals to make the glossy black a bit more "interesting". :-)

What kind of decals were you thinking of putting on?

Sounds like an amazing ride! I totally agree with your assessment. I've looked at other frames on the Chinese bike market, and it's hard to beat the price/performance of the R088. The only other frame I found as compelling as the R088 with somewhat future proof features is the ICAN FL1 which is more of an Aethos clone. I went with the R088 due to flexibility of an all-arounder.

I've had mine setup more as a climber with lightweight shallow depth wheels, but I'm thinking of running another set of deep dish wheels and using an XD cassette with my Shimano chainrings to get some additonal high gear.

Wow! That is fast! a 20km Time trial on this bike? 43 average without aerobars. Nice! Goes to show how fast this bike is too.

I can only imagine that the derailleur isnt adjusted in the correct way, There is no way 'frame flex' on that small distance is able to throw the chain off.

Yes, TT on this bike, without aerobars. Too bad I don't have a power meter, I really wanted to see the numbers. I rode at almost the same average speed last year on a time trial bike. The race had 2 laps of 10 km. I hope that the chain drop is not related to the flexible frame.

I can't entirely tell from the picture, but it looks like the FD has more space to be closer to the chainring. I usually have about a 2mm gap. A larger gap between the FD and chainring could be the cause of your outer chain drop.

The gap was about 3mm but I lowered it a bit more, maybe that will help. I also adjusted the B-gap and I will have to shorten the chain. I will keep you updated, thanks for the help.

Here's the finished frame!
Unfortunately, the logo and lettering came out glossy instead of matte as I requested (), and (at least in the photos) the contrast between the frame and the lettering is a bit too strong... I would have preferred a more subtle contrast. 
I should have it in my hands next week...if I really don't like it, I'll opt for new stickers to apply on top, or have them completely removed from under the clear coat.

I would define it as an "off-white" (a mix of white and light grey), with a marbled effect.

How did you request that? I love that effect. I have that "frosted" effect on my Yoeleo gravel frame and its amazing.

Let us know if that works. In general Shimano chainrings and FDs tend to have very good front shifting. It took a bit of tinkering to get my LTwoo ER9 front derailleur to shift as reliably.

FYI my front derailleur shifting is nearly perfect now with the shim added behind the FD mount. I haven't had a chain drop in the past ~100 miles or so since adding the shim and retuning the derailleurs. Also, it was much, much easier to get the FD adjusted correctly after adding a shim.

The frame was not painted by Spcycle, but by a painter in my area.
