Velobuild shipping time

Hi!

Does anyone know how long it takes to Velobuild to paint (1color) and ship a VR-177 frame?
Ordered mine more than 20 days ago and I am still waiting for it to be shipped

Took about 3 weeks for me when I ordered two 268 frames in two-tone color in march 2024. I wouldn't worry :-)

Thats a reasonable amount of time for a painted frame. It will be worth the wait

Mine came in just 3 or 4 days if I remembered correctly? to Abu Dhabi though, super fast shipping!

no custom paint though, just the matte black version of VBR 268

Shipping was about 2 weeks once they provided the tracking.

Chris told me my frame was picked up by the agent (5days ago), but if I check tracking id in 17track.net I get: "Your package is waiting to be picked up by the carrier"

If I check in DPD China it says: "NOT FOUND"

How long does it take to be updated?

Are there any updates on the shipping status of your order? When I call up my tracking number, I see exactly the same thing. For 6 days it says “Your package is waiting to be picked up by the carrier.”


And another question for the frequent buyers from China:
Are these shipping times normal in China? Does it always take this long after ordering for the goods to be dispatched? Is this related to the seller or is this a general problem with the shipping service providers within China?

I have my tracking information now, but it is from DHL. I have received an email that customs clearance has been completed. The parcel was sent via the Netherlands and should arrive tomorrow.

I don't quite understand this. I thought it was being sent by DPD. The tracking number provided for DPD still says "waiting to be picked up". I also have to pay "import duties" of €20. My gut feeling tells me that the parcel was not sent with a "prepaid taxes shipping method". However, when it arrives, it's ok for me, albeit a bit annoying.

However, a shipping time of 9 business days is really short. There's really nothing to complain about and the support from Chris at Velobuild has always been good with questions. Even after the order.

I followed up with DHL regarding the tracking information...

Apparently, my email address was mistakenly linked to this shipment. During their data check, it became clear that the package is actually addressed to a completely different person.

That being said, according to the tracking info, my package has now arrived in Amsterdam and is supposedly being handed over to DPD.

This whole thing feels like a detective story...
