This frame uses proprietary thru axles? Are you kidding me?

I received my frame today and I'm wondering about the spacer that is included.
This is probably a spacer for different headset spacers/cockpit. You might already have one installed on bike and it's just a different height, for future compatibility.

I doubt that. On the other hand - there is no real standard in through axles, manufacturers can pick widths, pitch heights and interfaces.

Funny question, I just asked the axle specs from LC as I am in the process of placing my order.

This post includes photos that show the axle specs.

As you can probably understand from this question, I'm not a professional bike mechanic  ;D

Anyone can tell where this spacer should be placed?

From prevous discussions on this thread, I think the conclusion is that it is needed sometimes - depending on paint film thickness on the frame. Try a 'dry' build with handlebars torqued down and then examin the gap at the top of the head tube. Make a judgement wheather to use the spacer based on the gap you see. When I tried this without the spacer there was a slight rub when turning the handlebar, so I put the spacer in and now it's perfect.

Like mention before:

The axles are included with the frame and they're quite light. Unfortunately, you won't find a lighter alternative that fits well 😬

you can use other but care about the "Countersunk design for the thru-axle head"

NOTE: dont see it as a problem, i had 4 diferent bikes each one have its own design and never fucked up a axle (only 1/4 of my bikes have a flat head )

BMC use a similar/ same design. It’s really not a problem.

They’re decently light so changing them for weight loss is kinda pointless unless you’ve taken every last gram out of the other components, and yourself.

Shhhh, stop that!  ;)

Don't make me second guess the 2g for titanium shift clamp bolts was useless when I have more than a few KG I could lose. Everyone asks bike weight not bike/rider weight, so it is not pointless. haha

Is LC's stock rear thru axle for their hanger attached to the UDH mount compatible with direct mount derailleurs?

Does anyone have a idea or webshop where I can get a good replacement bolt for the zero offset seat post saddle clamp. Preferably a torx one. That might last longer with the worse angle for the torque wrench.

Lightcarbon indicated that size 54 frames would be the first size run after the Chinese New Year.
So your new 54 orders might be produced quickly.

I replaced mine for titanium bolts - not to save 2g (although that's nice!), but because I think titanium is less likely to round off. I got them from AliExpress. I went for hex key heads so I can use the 'ball' end of the allen key to tighten up 95% of the way and then fully torque with the proper end. Not using a torque wrench here to avoid damage to the seatpost.

For the build I'm not sure yet. Either Elitewheels ENT 2.0 + Ultegra Di2 or Elitewheels Edge + 105 Di2 (both with Magene P515 powermeter).

How is the Di2 battery mounted in the seat tube? Is a bracket included?

Sorry for asking, but I'm thinking about installing Di2 for the first time.

chubv: Di2 battery is mounted in seatpost, there is rubber insert included with a frame, so no worries, it fits and works well.

Finally arrived! Everything well packed and in good condition. Ordered last November. Jim was my contact person. He did a good job and answered all my questions. Tomorrow I will start the building and hopefully finish it.
