Finally, after delays my frame and bits have arrived.

My 52 in raw clear with door was 1042g
I’ll weigh the fork once it’s cut


I have a few Cervelos from the past few years, so they’re really the direct comparison. But I also build bikes for people so I have experience with a lot of the main brands.
It’s a well built and finished frame set. The overall fit and finish is very high regardless of price. Sure, there are a few bits I’ll change immediately like the compression bung and headset bearings, but that’s to be expected. I’d do that on pretty much any frame.
I did that on the cervelos too.

The BB was nicely cut and a SRAM dub freely screws in by hand, and the wheel axles align perfectly.


I want to address a few points since I now have the bike in front of me.

1. The door opening - staying closed.
I’m pretty sure this is’nt the bolt on the back needing to be tightened. I think that’s actually making the situation worse as it’s the little nub on the top that holds the latch closed.
As this is worn away by frequent opening/ closing it gets worn away and loose. Tightening the bolt would wear this out more quickly allowing it to rattle open.

Im not sure how this can be fixed. Leave it with me.


2.
The saddle rail bolts are a bit of a silly design but most of my hex keys allow it to be adjusted.
I’m swapping the bolts to shallow headed stainless steel bolts to see if that helps.

The hex size is also reduced from M5 to M4 so the hex key is physically slimmer which also helps.
I’m not 100% convinced these bolts will take the torque, but there is only one way to find out.
I’ll keep you posted.

I dont suppose they sent a video to show the changing colours?

You can use whatever compression bung you like. I just don’t like the ones with a tall top cap. I prefer the specialized one as it’s very low profile.

Is this a new version of the door? I got two of them and neither of them has it.

That little nub isn’t on the v1, so this must be the “fix”.
I can’t understand why they are fighting gravity to keep the damn thing closed, surely it would make much more sense to have the latch closed in the bottom position, making it much harder for it to become loose.

The bolt holding the lever in place is a strange one.
It goes from loose to uncloseable with one quarter turn of tightness.
I’ve tried putting some thread lock on my v1 just to try and make the thing useable, but I’m pretty fed up with it.

Hopefully the new “nub” on the v2 does its job and keeps everything tight.

That’s what I choose to use, but many others are available.
There is nothing wrong with the one that comes with the frame, I just don’t like that style.

New to the forum.  Just ordered  size 47 (incl BB) with a 380/90 bar combo.  Also ordered some gravel wheels as well. the 26mm wide 40mm depth with cx-ray spokes ($489).  Total cost $1552 which is about £1240.  Delivery was $283 no taxes DPD.  Thought about a colour but cost and time frame (quoted 3-4 weeks extra) wasn't of interest.  Will be transferring the bits from my current bike on it.  Wheels going on my wife's gravel bike.

if your in the UK hambini sells reasonably priced headset bearings (£11 each) thats what i used, he is just reselling some japanese made ones but since his reputation is based on high quality i dont think he would sell them if they were shit

Looks good, but I'm in Spain and with the Brexit now we have to deal with customs :(

So long as the bearings are stainless steel and the correct size, it doesn’t matter where they come from.
Headset bearings never spin, they only go back and forth so stopping rust is the key to longevity.

My Seatpost doesn‘t slip but it has horizontal play. Very annoying noises with every Pedal stroke. It May be caused by the wedge or it‘s just too big tolerances. Small layers of Tesa Tape didn‘t help. I‘ll try again with other Tape.

I remember that somebody Else had this Problem
But i don‘t find the postings again? Can anyone help me?
