For me, it's a nice surprise when a new frame doesn't need to have the brake mounts and the bottom bracket faced and the threads chased. I take a frame to my LBS and spend the $35-50 to have that done as a matter of course. If the surfaces are fine and need no attention, they're honest enough to tell me so and not charge me for work I don't need. You can buy a $5000 frame and still need to have this done. That may not be ideal, but to demand this of a $600 frame seems unrealistic to me.

Five separate posters reporting brake mount alignment/facing issues. As someone who's waiting for delivery of a new frame, that's very discouraging. I suppose I'll ask Wendy to check that they're properly faced before they ship the frame.

I’ve had to do it to a 17k Pinarello and many other “premium” brands when I’ve built up frames.
This is a 700euro frame from China and a very minor inconvenience to resolve. If you’re not able to resolve minor issues yourself, maybe this isn’t the best route to a new bike.

Facing a brake mount means the mount wasn’t properly moulded or was moulded at an angle. What most are talking about in this thread is a minor amount of paint overspray. They are two very different things.

There are quite a few new and inexperienced bike builders who have incorrectly interchange terminology.

For what it's worth, mine is perfect. Headset and BB surfaces as well. Quite a bit better than a few "premium" brands that I worked on.

Did a 150k gravel group ride on it last weekend and we hammered. The bike was superb

I experienced a similar issue but ordered in mid-February.  The handlebars also delayed my shipment, but I worked with Jim to order an additional handlebar that was close in size to what I ordered in order to have the shipment sent out this week (I hope). Then I'll get the other handlebars I originally ordered later and will have to remove the temporary bars and install and wrap the new bars.

Of course, I paid for the extra handlebar and shipping, but that was expected.  It was a means to get the frame and wheels sent out sooner rather than wait another few weeks.

Well, i suppose they prefer oem or mass orders above one piece....the bike has hit some fairs and oem orders seem to be high.....but i agree, ordering january should be early enough to have the bike built and be ready when spring hits

around here, there are several "bike brands" selling lightcarbon frames. some are talking about "development" they did and even win awards at bike shows. lol

I placed the order on 28th January. Paid on 29th.
Wendy told me that I will receive about March 25th --April 10th.
On March 27, I was told that it would be shipped in mid-April.
Last week I got the photos und this week on monday Wendy send the trackingcode.

I also worked with Jim on a wheelset and ended up purchasing the C53DB-URD28-450CRay-24H/24H-UD-M wheels.  They should be shipping later this week.

I wouldn't go under 23mm inner width. For larger tyres 32-40mm I would look for 24-26 mm inner. 21mm inner I would considered old school.

€6200 for a 105Di2 build is disgusting, just as an example but elves offer full builds with an electronic groupset and custom paint for £3300.

Damn, i didn't even think about this option while ordering. Would've been nice to see some of the possible options beforehand like with the storage compartment. Now my frame has already been build.  :'(
