Stop tightening to 6mn 🤦 it doesn’t need to be that tight.
Either everything is compressing - as it should, or it’s pulling the compression plug upwards with the stupid high torque.

Ok I'll do it now but I'm on Holliday's and i'dont have the torque for the expander in mind. Is it 10nw?

I have finished my build ca. 2 weeks ago. Everything was easy to put together and there have been no issues so far (ca. 350km ridden).

I saw a lot of people early on mentioning problems with a slipping seatpost. I received the new version with the "grippy surface" all around the seatpost. I used the same approach as with my Cannondale Supersix (which also famously has slipping and creaking issues with the seatpost) and put grease on the frame side of the clamp + grip paste on the seatpost side. Torqued to 6nm I have had no slippage even though the roads here in Britain are quite rough with a lot of pot holes.

So far it seems like the updated version of the seatpost solved the issue?

Not for me. I got the slick version first and the grippy one later, but the problem persists.

Can anyone tell if this is normal amount of play when the clamp is loose?

When the clamp is tighten, I guess this amount of wiggleroom makes the seatpost slip because it’s only forced between the clamp and a smaller part of the rear of the seatpost. It might be forced sideways and forced out of it’s position little by little. Not sure how Jim will solve this. I need to use the bike and now I’m back to the strip of PU, but it’s not a perfect solution.

What is the T47 size for the standard stainless steel BB that LC supply?

I hear the Heppe tool from Aliexpress mentioned before but theres seems to be a few sizes available:

Prefer getting a socket adaptor type one so I can use my torque wrench to apply the correct torque value.

Give or take, my seat post had the same amount of wiggle when loose. Once torqued, I did not find any slipping. I do have a seat post varia mount; I wonder if that stops slipping? Either way, I took some thin protective film and layered two pieces on the two long sides of the post. That took away almost all the side-to-side movement but still let me easily insert the seat post. Of course, with carbon grip paste.

It does make me wonder if getting a varia mount 3D printed and putting that at the base of the seat post, would help prevent more slippage?

i used the "Mimoke 6-in-1 Multifunctional Bicycle Bottom Bracket Wrench & Tool (12/16 Tooth)". From Amazon. But i took me 3 orders to get a fitting tool  :D

One thing that might be worth a try - a couple of weeks back I was tightening the seatpost clamp, but was still getting movement in the seatpost and lots of slippage.
I took out the seatpost wedge, dismantled and cleaned, and put some light oil on the insides - made a huge difference - you could feel the seatpost tightening to no movement at much lower force.
When reinstalling I also used silca carbon grip paste, which seems to me to be a step above the standard stuff I used before.

Might be worth a try just to rule it out if nothing else.

I did something similar. I greased the bolt and surface of the wedge that slides against the other wedge. Put carbon paste on the surface that touches the seatpost. Some more carbon grip paste around the entire seatpust that sits in the frame. And done. Didn't move at all and it got a serious beating in the meantime

My frame is ready to be shipped but they don’t have the handlebar I want in stock in the size I’m looking for.

Would you know of / could you recommend a similar handlebar (or a more modern one) that wouldn’t cost more than $150-200, with at least a small rise (or a big rise otherwise) please?

Some thoughts about my my speed whobbles:

Without loads the bike handles very well, not whobbling even at top speeds over 90kph, very good and predictable steering, fast in twisties, no big issue with side wind.

I’m running a front dynamo hub so there is a bit of weight in the front wheel. The wheels are built by me, very true, very even spoketension, running since 25kKM

The whobbling only appeared with the Tailfin which is a common and known problem. Also I’m using the longer arch since I use the Tailfin also on my dropper Seatpost bike. The weight is even more in the back. Next time I’m using the Tailfin I will try some weight distribution to the front with a little bar roll. Also a little more preload may solve the problem.

I will report back.

I think that could be your problem, even at 6N-m you should feel headset bearing getting a bit stiff. Think you just dont have enough gap between fork steerer tube and spacers and it all get stuck on fork steerer tube and your bearing are not getting preloaded no matter how much you tighten it.
Try to add one spacer bellow the top cap (above handlebars) to increase that gap and then you should be able to correctly preload bearings (2-3n-m)
Thank you (and others) for this information and insight.  I didn't know about needing so much extra height on the spacers.  I had speed wobbles on several bikes previously.  Couldn't figure it out and sold the bikes.  Likely this was the cause at least some of the time. Expensive lesson to learn!
