Wendy sent me my pre-delivery photos last Sunday. I paid on April 9 and am now waiting for my tracking number. The colors are glossy black and matte black. At the time, the basic price was USD699 and the 2 color paint job USD120. Wendy gave me the down and head tube logos for free but charged me USD35 after I asked to add the chainstay logos!

Hi to all,

Here's a message from one of the quiet readers, who's very grateful for all the discussions and input I received thanks to the forum. I purchased my frame & wheels a while ago and had no rush for the build. I've now covered a couple of 100kms on the bike and I'm very happy with it. The ride is clean. It doesn't have a quirky or the opposite sluggish ride. It's just very neutral, pretty stiff uphill and it fits my goal of an allroad bike where I'm the guy doing 90% road whilst having the freedom to enjoy the silence in the woods or a very quiet side road. So thanks to all and I hope you enjoy the pics, I hope you might consider it as some input of what can happen if you fully use the opportunity of building a custom bike. Bring some color to your life! On a side note: this bike is only my personal use and any brand logos are only for my private usage.

seriously, in the end, there's not that much difference between many of the higher end carbon road bikes... so to be able to make it your own, with a custom paint is a real differentiator.  i considered orbea and factor partly because of their options to customize the paint.  glad i found this forum and heard about light carbon for a much lower cost option.

my mountain bike (revel ranger), has a mixed gloss and matte black paint job so wish i considered that for my LCR018D.  it looks sick! but wow, that klein paint scheme with the multiple fades and lightning, including up into the stem and bar is insane!!  if that was $250, that is crazy good deal and their execution (not even sure how to even describe or template out something like that) turned out amazing.

The gloss and matte look great. I placed my order 20th May and was told it would be about 2-4 weeks for production, but I've now been told due to the European bike show, production slowed, so it's more like mid-July.

I do agree. I like to look at 2 main things.  First cool paint jobs and colors and 2nd is geometry of frames.

Just finished my build. Colours didn’t match my order (royal blue and matt carbon) and the extra cage bolt on the downtube was added above the original two instead of below per my request, but it looks great and rides really nice, got to be happy with it for what they charge!

Coming from a 2023 Supersix Evo gen3 (which I loved except for the bars were a bit low - steerer was already cut when I bought it 2nd hand, compares very well so far. I wanted a higher stack and longer front centre, the bottom bracket with Elilee carbon cranks are super stiff (I opted for no storage compartment), so I will probably use this bike for both racing and endurance rides and sell the SSEvo.

58/XL size frame weighed about 1070g, bars 320g, fork 440g before cutting steerer, total build ready to ride at 7.55kg, right about where I wanted to end up.

Looks cool and to hear you also have SSE is interesting. How does the stiffness compare to your Cannondale overall if you don’t mind?

Wheels profile height?

I would have chosen the storage compartment...I think it's very convenient for storing some emergency tools without ruining the frame's aesthetics with bags and/or storage bottles.

beautiful bike (despite the not matching your order) -- the blue to glossy carbon fade looks great.

really like the comparison to your previous ride... 23 supersix evo is a pretty solid bike, so great to hear the LCR018 compares well.  i think your reasons are why a lot of us chose it: better geo in terms of stack but still racy (aero/stiff/competitive weight). very solid build too.  happy if mine can be sub 8k.

hope others also post ride reviews, including comparisons to other well known bikes/brands.

Zen wheels are 55F/60R. 24.5mm IW, 34mm external width at widest point, 30mm tires are about 33mm WAM.

I matched a PR on a 1.6km downhill segment today, it feels more stable descending vs the SSEvo, I would love to try the new Conti 35mm STRs on another difficult descent I do sometimes, I reckon it would feel a lot less sketchy.

I would say the LC feels stiffer, power transfer through BB very responsive (tests show this too, was mentioned further up in the thread), but at same time it is just as comfortable, more so because the higher stack is perfect.

I read the comments about all the issues with storage cover coming loose but also the sizeable impact on headtube and bb stiffness in this thread, so decided to remove it. I always wanted a  Storage compartment, I haven’t used a saddle bag for ages because hate the look. Funnily enough, I thought about speccing top tube bolts and with another production wrinkle, mine came with them. So I’m trialling a small aero top tube bag with electric pump and a few other bits.

ordered mine along with wheels on the 11th of April.  Got the wheels last week.  email on the 11th june that it would be sent within 3 working days.  Should hopefully get it next week.  probably be into august by the time you get it.

Is the Cema BB upgrade worth it or do most people stick with the Gineyea BB? I cant seem to find much about Cema bb’s but the upgrade price seem fairly reasonable if it’s worth it.
