i added the cema ceramic bb to my order. frame is arriving in about a week so will report back how it works out. at least from hambini’s review, the t47 bb area seems well aligned, threads clean and area well faced so i’m hoping adding the cema will mean a long life.

my current bike’s been chewing through pressfit PF30 bb’s every 6-12months so i finally ordered a bb infinite for it basically to overcome the pressfit design and construction failures.

Can I ask, what is your height and in seam dimension?

I have ordered the exact same frame and handlebar size and I hope its good for me being at 179cm and 83cm in seam.

I now have put a few hours of riding into the LCR018-D so just want to give everyone the final specs of the bike and a quick initial impression.

Assembly:

Putting the bike together was a pleasure - has to go down as the easiest bike I have ever built - and this is my first disc brake bike so that is saying something!
Everything is finished to a very high standard, no problem routing any cables - handlebars are easy to route through as well - everything just works.
Di2 battery holder in the seatpost is custom made to fit and is a really nice finishing touch.
Another feature not really mentioned is the little GoPro mount which attaches to the Garmin mount in where the mount meets the bar - not out front at the actual Garmin faceplate. This is such a great little addition - it allows me to add a light to the bike but keep it nicely tucked in close to the frame - so compact and neat and not something ive seen before, so kudos to LightCarbon for this!

Initial Impressions:

If there is one word I would use to describe this bike, it would be smooth.
It's exactly as I hoped for, and exactly the bike I wanted.
Is it as responsive as a TCR? No. Is it as fast as an Aeroad? No. Dont get me wrong, its fun and a pleasure to ride, but im trying to give an objective feel of the actual ride compared to some other bikes.
BUT - its smoother than anything else ive ridden, and im willing to bet I might actually be faster over 4-5 hours on this bike than the other 2 listed, because this bike does not beat me up at all.
It is so easy on the body that after 2 hours I find myself physically in far better shape than I would be on any of my other race bikes - and thats the key.
I bought this bike for endurance, and it's ticking all the boxes - and then some.

I went for Ultegra 8170 Di2 and ive never been as blown away by a groupset.
I've been using 9150 Di2 on my Cervelo S3 which is very, very good - but this 8170 is ridiculous. Absolutely silent and shifts faster than any groupset ive ever used - even the front shifts feel like a rear shift - so smooth, fast and quiet.
I wasn't expecting that much of a difference - but it is a big difference to any groupset ive used and I couldn't recommend highly enough.
Ive added the little button "exaggerators" that slip in under the hoods to make the hidden buttons more pronounced (I got them off Aliexpress) - what a difference they make! I can press even with winter gloves and feel the clicks so clearly - a small but massive improvement.

Another big motivator for this bike was the shift to disc brakes - I have hand and wrist problems at the minute and needed something to ease the pressure and force going through my hands - especially on wet winter roads.
Overall, I am delighted with disc braking. Bleeding the 8170 was so simple as to be a joke - took 5 minutes to do both front and back. Aligning the rotors did keep me busy for half an hour as I wrapped my head around it, but now all set and silent.
 
I was surprised by the gradual nature of the braking - to me it feels much like a very well setup rim brake bike, but the key difference being that it feels the same even in the wet! So this is a huge improvement.
Im using Swissstop 34RS pads, so maybe other pads would give a different feel, but I am very happy with how these perform.

Another interesting bonus is the lack of external cables. The bike looks so sleek and clean - and to that point, no cables makes cleaning down the bike SO much easier!
It is such a well rounded package overall, so smooth, confidence inspiring in its stability, still agile and absolutely silent, which always brings a smile to my face when riding.

One point to mention is the handlebars. I love the look of the design, and the sloping shape gives an extra few mm of height to the shifters. However that sloping shape is not great for riding on the tops as it angles your shoulders in towards each other and feels rather cramped. As someone who loves to climb, I can see this being a slight point of annoyance in the future, so I may revisit the bars after a while and think about changing them out. Its a small point, but something worth mentioning.

It will be interesting to see when the good weather comes around again what I think of taking my Cervleo S3 out again - the LCR018-D is such a well rounded bike that covers every scenario so well, that I can see it becoming my go-to bike for most rides.

Future Plans:

There's not much more to do to the bike, but I have a couple of things i'd like to try.

1. A "best" wheel upgrade for the good days. A 50/55 ish deep set of wheels around 1200g to really make the bike shine. The Go Zones are great, and the brass nipples give me all year round confidence, but at 1380g they are a do it all workhorse. Id love a set of all out performance wheels for big days out. I'm trying to decide between DFS Carbon custom build, Serenade 50mm, Aero Raptor 50mm, XM Carbon custom build, or 9Velo - any thoughts here much appreciated!

2. A second fork. I have my current fork cut with a couple of extra spacers for maximum comfort, I'd love to get another one and cut it slammed for better aero performance on fast days. Its not that big a deal to switch the fork out, so currently debating the cost if an extra fork and an extra caliper.

Is the Cema BB upgrade worth it or do most people stick with the Gineyea BB? I cant seem to find much about Cema bb’s but the upgrade price seem fairly reasonable if it’s worth it.

I only have 1000km on my cema bb but happy with it. I wanted to get a good BB so I did not have to pull apart the bike in short turn around. smooth, no noise and fits well (now). One bearing was undersized and I could not fit the crank in. Both LC and CEMA responded and coordinated replacement bearing ASAP.  Product to customer service, I am very happy about. Time will tell on the longevity but the initial impression is good.

My question in not specifically related to Lightcarbon but my LCR018-D with UD black matt finish developed one shiny spot compare to rest of frame surfaces I have no idea why, but it is kinda bugging me.

Do you guys know anything how to get it back to matt with the rest of the frame?

This black matt paint is kind of pain in the ass, this was the only mistake I have made with my bike otherwise absolutely love it.

Also what do you guys think is better paint option for "livability" with frame, easy to clean, durable? I kind of starting to like look of glossy raw black, but I have no idea how it is to take care of.

I have a painted matte black santa cruz gravel bike and added helicopter tape in quite a few areas.  I was a little worried about the different finishes but I'm happy with it.  The taped area becomes a gloss black finish and looks nice so I don't worry too much about all the dust collecting on the matte finish.  If the wear area getting shiny could benefit from some clear tape protection, it might be worth considering as a solution.

Weight with 30 mm Pirelli's, LC computer mount, pedals = 7.8 kg calculated with my digital bathroom scale.

First photo - with Michelin Pro5 35 mm tires and Panda Podium / Ahyka Aero bottles.
The Michelins were comfortable and fast rolling, measuring 37 mm on the rims. Seems like plenty of rear clearance and huge fork clearance. These tires are good for light gravel such as the rail trail near my house. The bike itself is not very forgiving, other than the nice riding position and longer wheelbase. My optimal case with these tires is mixed roads where gravel gets where you want to go, rather than choosing this for dedicated long gravel rides. 

The Aero bottles seem fast, but they're smaller than the standard large bottles that I'm used to and have a significantly lower flow rate.  I wasn't happy with the low flow and installed the LC BC205 cages for standard bottles.  These cages were nice enough that I mounted the second set on my gravel bike. After one ride with some rough gravel that included fast downhill sections, they seem secure and quiet. 

I had a bike shop cut the steer tube and advised them to cut 4-5 mm below the top. I forgot to pre-grease the bearing areas and when I greased and put the handlebar back on, the stem was just above the top - so back to the shop.  They sanded the extra length off without removing the brake cables and retightened everything. Not sure I believe that they cut it properly the first time as they insisted, and that the grease somehow seated the headset stack better / lower.  I believe they likely made a mistake.

But this had me thinking that if grease is helpful in properly seating the headset bearings, maybe that is something that folks should look at who are troubleshooting speed wobbles.  If for any reason the ungreased headset bearings were hung up on some piece of carbon or resin and slightly misaligned, that might cause some wobble that grease could help settle things in.

With the bars setup from the shop, my first fast group ride wasn't confidence inspiring.  On fast downhill with high (~30-40 kph) crosswinds, the bike didn't feel stable, feeling like a speed wobble above about 60 kph.  When I got home, I found that the shop didn't properly tighten the compression plug and it pulled up even with the top cap creating 4-5 mm extra space in the headset stack.  I suspect that they thought it was self-tightening with the top cap screw.  Not sure if this is a thing on other plugs. 
Once the plug was tight, everything was a lot more stable.  But, another day with higher (40-50 kph) head and crosswinds, I had some instability that I suspected was from the big Michelins and the rim OD difference. It felt like a flutter even at moderate speeds, so I was considering a change to my 30 mm Pirellis. That decision made for me when the next day a pack of razorblades was spread over the road and shoulder near the hardware store while I zoned out riding by.  One ruined Michelin later and the Pirellis were going on for sure. 

The 30mm's are more stable in the strong head and crosswinds that we're having this year in the UT mountains. comfort with the 30's is good, even on our less than perfect roads, though I'm avoiding longer gravel road rides where I was comfortable on >10k of decent gravel with the 35's.   

With about 650km on the bike, I love the fit, narrower 38 mm bars, bar shape, and rear-end comfort.  The bike is stiff, fast and comfortable.  It's definitely an aero feel - stiff with the deeper tube shapes. The back end seems to be a bit more forgiving than the front, probably due to the dropped and thinner seat stays.
This bike is stable to at least 80 kph. Above that speed I'm still more cautious than many in my Weekly group ride, especially when the downhills seem to have asphalt undulations that I suspect are from the cold winters, plus the wind.  But I think I just need to learn to let it run. 
It's also very stable on uneven or dirty / gravel littered roads.  The week before I got my bike, I was able to demo a Dogma F.  It had its positives like feeling quite smooth while remaining eager, and it was an excellent climber, but it was frightful on anything sketchy. A larger size would probably have suited me better.   

The LC bars have a very comfortable shape.  I really enjoy the wide aero center portion with the slight curve and forward cant. 
The SD02 saddle is comfortable, though I sort of miss my Selle Italia Boost SLR.  I bought an SD01 as well since I wanted to compare, but my recommendation is stick with the SD02.  Both saddles seem to have the same shape and the SD02 has more padding, but certainly not soft or overly padded. Didn't try the SD01 and listed it for sale.

My seatpost is the newer one with full grippy tape.  Thanks to forum tips, I had pre-greased my seatpost wedge interfaces, and saddle bolts. Initially I had some minor noises, which were all attributed to the seatpost and saddle clamps, but it was totally quiet after re-tightening the wedge bolt and adding more torque to the saddle clamps, which also prevented the seat from tilting on impact.  Added some Muckoff carbon paste to a portion of the seatpost and a little on the carbon saddle rails between the clamps.

What did you use for helicopter tape and where did you get it from?
I got two sizes of ISC Racer's tape. 1"x30ft HT1308 and 3"x30ft HT3314 from Amazon.

The grease is there to protect against rust and potentially any squeaks - nothing else.
The bearing and bearing seat are conical so they can, and will only rest on one place under load. It’s basically impossible for them to get “hung up” as described it.

It sounds very much like you use a shit bike shop to work on your bike and they didn’t cut the steerer correct. No other reason than that for your issues.

I had brought up the wobbles. I can confirm both the upper and lower bearings have grease (in my case). I am now thinking it is steering sensitivity with however I have the bike setup. Moving from a 58mm front wheel (26int/34 ext) with a 35mm measured to 33 measured and then 31mm tire helped the front end feel a bit better. Now on a 50mm with a conti 111 is feeling better but still not stable as 50km+ with wind.

I just had a bike fit and hoping the slight position change helps. I spoke with the fitter about the front feeling floaty/twitchy. The saddle came down a cm and we dropped the bars 1.5cm. He hopes that should help the front end feel. Crappy weather has me yet to get a real test ride in to see. I am running the 15mm offset seat post and a 380x90mm stem (10mm headset cover + 15mm spacer). I am starting to think if maybe the rearward position is making the front end feel lighter and feeling more sensitive on the shorter bars.

I am curious if getting the 0 offset post and a set of 100-110mm bars would help, if the new position doesn't. Maintain the same overall reach but shift everything forward. Accepting the change to my position relative to the BB. The fitter said give the current fit a test, obviously, but we can discuss shifting everything forward if the problem persists. My thought would be making the stem longer would remove some of the steering sensitivity and would get some more weight over the front to reduce to floaty feel.

Totally agree with this take. They were my second choice as my preferred mechanic was closed. Won't make that mistake again.

bike fit and handling is tricky business...

on my current rim brake bike (parlee altum) i went from 175 to 165mm cranks a few years ago for my hip impingement issue and it was awesome for my hip.  but it did raise and move my saddle forward a bit to compensate and i had to get used to that from a bike handling perspective.  it's at very typical i would say crit racing geometry in terms of handling, but still comfortable for long rides (probably more the carbon lay-up than geometry here).  but as i got older and less flexible, i went from a 100mm to 90mm stem and that was awesome for my reach, but i did notice feeling the front end being floaty and force myself to get into the drops and really lean forward into turns to maintain maximum traction during fast twisty descents (malibu).

shorter stems typically make steering more twitchy so you could try a longer one. but that potentially is an expensive swap (parts and labor) and may mess with your fit.

i ordered 90x400 stem/bar combo for the LCR018 so hope to replicate my fit as close as possible.  with slightly longer wheelbase and slacker head tube angle, i'm expecting the LCR018 to feel more stable.  so it's interesting to me to hear about issues with twitchiness or speed wobbles...

I’ll be blunt.

There is absolutely nothing inherently wrong with the geometry of the 18-D and any speed wobble issues are down to the build, or the fit of the individual riding the bike.

For some reason this frame has attracted a lot of 1st time and inexperienced builders/ riders who write “reviews” without having a bloody clue what they’re talking about.
Lots of guessing when choosing frame and bar sizes cause these exact issues, but somehow it’s the fault of the frame never the owner doing the guesswork.

I know one of the members had a wobble issue but that was after a crash is a race, so that totally fair, but the other baseless slop It’s giving the frame an unjustified reputation.

I do not think it is a frame issue, I think it is a me and/or fit issue. I do not think I have stated or implied the frame is the issue. I previously asked if anyone else had an issue and have been working through different things to try and resolve it. I worked with a bike fitter before ordering to make sure I order the correct frame size and bars. Now working with him to see if my issue is position related. If this was a frame issue design, I think there would be way more issue brought up here.

Clarifying that to make sure anyone reading doesn't think the frame is the issue as POTOOOOOOOO pointed out.

I figured but wanted to make clear to anyone else reading, I am not pointing or implying it is the frame. To make clear, this is a good frame!
