Any suggestions on electric pumps that will fit in internal storage?

I have the BSCOBBER A5 mini from Ali Express, bought for $25 CAD and currently listed for sub $40 CAD. I leave it in the bike and use only when stuck on the side of the road. Works fine as an emergency pump. I then have a large electric pump I keep with my tools to inflate the tires pre ride.

Someone posted on Reddit that LC will supply a Shimano direct mount derailleur hanger if asked. I wish I knew that when I ordered my frame.

Hi there, i am building my bike today and tomorrow.
Its the firtst bike i build and I have some questions.
The rear brake hose is routed above the bottom bracket? Or do you push it below the bottom bracket?

I cant find information in any video about that.

Mine ended up above the bottom bracket as well. There quite a bit of room up there.

I see that you also have a crack, paint chip in the upper right corner of the storage. Maybe it's just the quality of the photo, I can't see it clearly. This issue was reported a few pages back.

ok, i managed to get this far.
I dont have a torque wrench for:
UDH left thread
Pedal left thread
Bottom Bracket left thread

The bottom bracket has 3 washers/shims in the package.
I meassured the distance wenn it was finally mounted. It is 89mm or 89,2mm.
It should ideally be 88,5mm and the AI says: when running Ultegra Di2 with two by in front, i dont need any shims. Hope thats correct.

Tomorrow
Headset bearing play removal (i will not do the 6Nm. I heard its better to do it by feel)
Straightening the handlebar. Torque it to spec.
Setting the STI´s to desired position. I will not be able to torque them, as i dont have a hex in that lenght for the torque wrench.
Cutting brake hose and installing them with olive and barp.
I will not be able to torque the brakehose-nut. Just completely torque the nut is ok i guess?
Bleeding with kit and Shimano-Oil.
Torque crank set.
Align brakes. Torque brakes.
Installing waxed chain and setting the shifters. (i hope there are some good videos).

I am a bit confused that there is no barps and olives when you buy a Shimano Di2 Groupset.
I ordered 2 parts as sparte part... so there is only one chance to cut them correct tomorrow.

Bartape will be done after a small testride, when STI´s are in a good position.

I was super lucky to order some spare barbs and olives, otherwise I couldn't have finished it today.
I don't get that.
Nobody buying this Ultegra groupset for 1200€ will be able to mount it if they don't order two barbs for an extra 3–4€.
That's beyond stupid.

Anyway, I have the bike together.
I will test-ride it and then put on the bar tape if the STIs are in a good position.

What is the torque for the seatpost bolts, holding the saddle?
I used 5Nm because i could not find it.

Aerodurance barb are installed in hoses also it is ready to go, you just can not cut the hoses to lenght , you can very carefully cut the barb from hoses after you cut them. Yeah I dont know why they are doing this and it is just stupid, but sram will ship you calipers and shifters connected together that is more work for factory and more work for mechanic and you need to buy olives and barbers also so there is no win with this

PS: those yellow valve caps are straight to a jail from me otherwise build looks pretty cool. Just a little tip you can with a bit of aceton on a rag easily remove those pink logos on ridenow tubes.

I guess the reason is, the hoses are filled with oil and the barbs are closed with... i dont know, silicone or so.
Its made so that the oil stays inside.
BUT, that doesnt make sense because you have to cut them and you have to bleed them anyway.... so why putting oil in them? Its plastic. It will not rust anyways.
So they could just send you empty hoses and single barbs. It is stupid.

Do you know what torque to use on the seat clamps?

Aerodurance I did not torque it to a specific torque just by feel and to my perfectly calibrated hand it felt like maybe 7-8N-m.
I did put however a bit of carbon paste between aluminium lower saddle clamp and carbon seatpost and absolutely no problems so far.

2.5 mm can be swallowed just by the small amount of slack in your shoes. The cleat can effectively move back or forth more than that - which is the same for everyone, but puts it into perspective.

If you want change, you need to make change. 5mm will not make much of an effective difference, so I’d be willing to bet any felt “benefit” is placebo rather than mechanical or physical.

I built a bike for a friend of mine who was having some fit issues. I swapped him from a 175mm to a 165mm and he didn’t notice the shorter length, but he noticed his hip muscles weren’t as tight anymore.


Currently swapping all his bikes to 165 as the cranks become available

I don't agree to the statement that 5mm are not feelable.
Maybe not for you.
I could spot a difference when I changed an older bike from 172.5 to 170. Even if it sounds so small, my knees felt much better .

I sometimes would like to be less sensitive. But just if you can't spot it that doesn't make it to 100% truth for everyone

another ride report.

the front end is definitely on the stiffer side compared to the rear.  on today's ride, hit a few cracks in the road hard and it was jarring (31mm wam front tire @ 57psi) on the wrists while much more muted in the back (32mm wam @ 57psi), in the saddle.  not sure how much of that is from the frame, fork or bar.  it's not terrible but given how comfortable the back is, it's just an observed contrast.

loving the bike though... more PRs, especially descending and the flats.

I recently experienced a front-end wobble once while descending at over 60 km/h with a slight crosswind. It was quite scary, but gently applying the rear brake stopped the oscillation.

My setup is:

LCR-018, size 56
50 mm wheels
32 mm tyres

I checked the headset carefully and there is no play in any direction.

I know that a few other members have experienced a similar issue. Did you manage to identify the cause, and what solution worked for you? Was it related to the headset, wheel or tyre setup, wheel depth, spoke tension, or rider position?

I've always figured wobbles are a wheels issue, not a frame issue. Maybe remove the spoke stickers?
