My computer mount snapped when I rolled over a small bump during my ride this morning. Has anyone found an alternative mount that fits the three bolt mount on the hbr17 bars? Hoping to find something more durable than the stock mount and less expensive than the ti version.

I use a karoo 3 and it was attached to the bar via leash, so no damage to the computer thankfully.

sorry to hear.  how much is light carbon charging for the titanium mount now?

when i bought my LCR018 in april, it was only $10 and they still included the plastic one too.  i'm sure there may be a shipping charge too. 
if you have a friend with access to a 3D printer, forum member @kroser has a file you can use to print yourself a new mount.

agree di2 is nice.  fast and never misses.   i have to still be careful not to crank too hard during a shift, forgetting that's still not ideal, whether mechanical or electronic.

curious what about the bottom bracket install doesn't feel "durable" or "right"?  was the surface not flat or faced? 

re: seatpost, yeah pretty much everyone's agreed it's ok to add a couple extra NM torque to keep it from slipping.  i did that from day 1 so no issues.

re: the storage cover, yeah, i also added a bit of extra stereo wire tape to the edges of the cover, as someone else suggested, just for a snugger fit and less rattling risk.  probably more noticeable depending on the riding surfaces you're on and why some folks report no noise/rattle and others still have issues.  roads here in california are pretty bad.

re: crosswinds, for some of folks with issues with the LCR in cross winds, i'm wondering if the LCR018 might be their 1st aero bike.  i remember riding my first triathlon bike decades ago, with it's deep frame profile and running deep aero wheels, it was jarring when i got hit with the first in cross wind (especially in aero bars).  granted that was back with V-shaped 60mm deep rims,  but the LCR with modern U-shaped 50mm wheels has been great for me.  i'm also 82kg so can tolerate it a lot more.  if you're going from round tubes with low profile rims, to aero bike with 50-60mm deep wheels and you're light, then, yeah, it's going to be an adjustment.  going down to 40mm at least for the front, might make sense is you're riding in windy conditions often.  you won't lose that much in aero and gain back a lot in confidence.  but if it's not windy all the time, give it some time and i think you'll adjust.

my other road bike, while carbon, isn't particularly aero shaped and has 30mm carbon rims, so i wanted a contrast by getting the LCR with 50mm rims.  it'd feel silly to me, to spec my aero frame with a 30mm wheels.


I haven’t ridden it much yet—only about 50 to 70 km so far.

Moving from my trusty old mechanical 105 to the Ultegra Di2 feels strangely nice and surprisingly good.
I absolutely love it.
Don't get me wrong, my 11-speed 105 setup is excellent; it shifts crisp and clean, but it is nowhere near as quiet and smooth as the Ultegra.

Building up the frame and bike was pretty straightforward.
However, what I didn’t like was tightening the bottom bracket cups against the carbon frame.
There was some slight abrasion during tightening. I really wish there was a steel washer between the cup and the frame. The current setup just doesn’t feel right or durable.

Setting up the brakes on this frame is also much harder than on my aluminum Radon R1—it’s quite strange.
On my Radon, I simply loosen the caliper bolts, squeeze the brake lever hard, and torque the bolts down. The brakes end up nearly perfectly centered.
Doing the exact same thing on the LCR18 just doesn’t work at all. Are the hydraulic hoses extrem stiff brand new. I dont know.

I initially torqued the seatpost to 6 Nm, but that didn't hold. It slipped twice during a ride, even though I used Dynamic carbon paste.
I have now tightened it to 8Nm, hoping it stays this time.

The thru-axles do not feel high-quality either.
I can already tell they will fail at some point.
It’s a pity they aren’t standard axles but use a proprietary cone shape instead.
LightCarbon should switch to a more standardized solution.

The internal frame storage was rattling like crazy. I had to glue extra foam inside to stop it.
I hoped i works nice from the factory, but forr me, it didn't work out of the box.

Finally, the bike is 2-3x as vulnerable to crosswinds as my Radon R1 ( round tube aluminium bike).
It is incredible how much of a difference there is.
While I was actually considering 65mm deep rims for my Radon R1, on the LCR18, I would now rather run shallower wheels with 40mm depth.

The frame is nicely made and the painting is incredible for that price.
The storage and the things they ship it with are super.
There are lot of good things, but its only fair to tell the complete story, with all its downsides as well, for people considering buying it.
I heard they also raised prices.
I would order again but ask for more standard axles and holes.

Just install standard 1 1/8" spacers and a standard, round top cap above stem.

I finished my build yesterday. Sorry to bring up the topic again but here is the total play between my frame and the bottom plastic spacer. A bit more than a mm. The fork is preloaded as I did tighten the top cap bolt to around 2 Nm. I was not given the plastic shim like I have seen on some build. Do you think that acceptable ?

Am I missing something here.

I have lower bearing bevel up and the upper bearing bevel down. Then when I put the fork thru along with other two components. There is a small gap. As as shown in the image.
I just want to make sure I am not missing something. I did wonder if the two bearings are different sizes.

I started my build over the weekend and managed to get my headset bits all assembled and cut my fork.  I would say my headtube to plastic cover gap is similar to you folks, was surprisingly larger than I thought and I tripled check it all to make sure before I cut my tube tube but looks to be right.

My delivery didnt come with a 0.7mm spacer that they were previously shipping to alleviate some rubbing issues. I had posted about this when I got my frame last week and seems the latest deliveries no longer get this spacer.  I am wondering if they have made some adjustment in the latest deliveries (maybe shortening the plastic cover or increasing the thickness of the metal ring) to accommodate a larger clearance.

My only worry is the larger clearance allowing water to ingress and potentially ruining the bearings.

Any suggestions on electric pumps that will fit in internal storage?

I read in an earlier comment that the Cycplus AS2 Ultra fits (65x47.5x28mm). My Topump TB2 pro doesn't fit (77×53×32mm). Wondering if Cyclami AM6 Pro will fit because it's ~1/3 of the price of the AS2 Ultra.

Any other suggestions under $100 CAD range?

To update this - I went with the Cyclami A2S Alloy, and it fits in the downtube storage with the silicone sleeve on and nozzle off. I may get shorter bottle cage screws to save a little space because it's tight currently. I can report back once I have some experience using it more

A user earlier in the thread created a 5mm 3D print spacer for above the bar, due to the angle. I have been running it since building the bike and it works great. I originally cut the steer tube to work with all the spacers and slowly been working down as I dial fit. The 3D spacer plus generic round on top with a round cap have worked great.

The through axles were already damaged by a guy in a german forum.
I agree that they somehow feel soft. The paint of the threads was immediately gone (thats why i am a bit nervous about them. I often take the wheel of when i travel with the bike in the car).
I didn´t have that on my Newman axles on my Radon/Cube bike.
Finding a new axle for that cone is harder than for a standard axle. Not sure why you would choose such an axle.

The LCR18 is my first Aerobike. I had a Radon R1 with aero bars and the Elite-Wheels Edge 1.0 50mm before.
I just switched the frame and it feels very different.
I also switched from 400mm handlebars on the R1 to 380mm on the LCR18.
Yes that is a reason, but its not proportional to the higher forces.
Its ok, i can live with it, but its way more then i expected.

Rattling on the cover is now gone.

For the BB thing: I guess its not a frame but a systemical issue (or a issue of that specific BB).

Look at how the nut is diggin into the frame. That should not be if you ask me.
It is the standard BB that LC includes. Maybe others are better, but this one.... i dont want to install it 3-4 times.

I am currently in ordering phase and doing some details with their staff over e-mail.

Just interested can anyone suggest about size 54 or 56 as currently i am on Focus Culebro SL 2.0 2014(i think this is model 99% sure) and recently had a bike fit with my current bike.
According to his bike fit my reach to handlebar is 495mm and stack is 575mm and i have 655 mm height to handlebars (80 mm stacked with spacers) - i measured stack and total height so could be up n down a bit.
Saddle height is 785 mm so just interested no idea if i'm missing smth with size 54 with saddle height also.
Right now i have it size 54 with 100mm stem and 8mm added stack (according to their specs in mail).
It is shorter in height but i assume relaxed geometry will give similar position or should i just go size 56 to have more flexibility in height and reach is very similar.
I am 185 mm height with shorter legs and inseam of 81 mm (longer torso and shorter legs).
First bike i bought was 2 big for me (bike fitter shortened my stem from 110 mm to 60 mm) so just scared about going 2 big again.

my money is on 56. do spend time figuring out the cockpit size to order though, because buying a different one and swapping it is costly and very time consuming and incredibly irritating.

The Gineyea T-47 BB that LC sent me had some sharp edges on the flanges. I filed them down before installation.

I can't say I had any of the other problems that you mentioned. I got Ultegra disk brake calipers to center on the rotors without any fuss. After 240 kms and a modest amount of Silca carbon paste, my seat post is holding steady at 6.5 Nm without slipping. The conical head thru-axle design is used by Specialized, Trek, Cannondale, Colnago, etc. What specific problems with LC thru-axles have you heard?

My one complaint is the design of the seat post. There doesn't seem to be any way to get a torque wrench to reach the saddle mount bolts.

Was there any play before? 6 nm is a lot for a top cap. The spacing looks large, though I don't think it's a big problem.
