Lightcarbon: LCR018-D (endurance all-road)

Was there any play before? 6 nm is a lot for a top cap. The spacing looks large, though I don't think it's a big problem.

No play at all and everything is lined up correctly.  The 6Nm figure is whats stated as the required torque in the Lightcarbon instruction sheet.

Like some of the other posters in the previous couple of pages, the gap seems larger than expected.  I'm thinking the metal ring that sits above the bearing has been thickened to ensure the cover doesnt rub against the headtube which some have experienced in the early builds.

I actually asked myself the same question when I changed the setup. My thought was that, since the GP 4-Season is not designed for tubeless use, the tyre might not have been sitting properly on the rim and could perhaps have contributed to the instability.

I also noticed that the compression plug and some of the screws were not tightened to the specified torque anymore. After re-tightening everything, the front end feels noticeably stiffer and the situation seems improved.

That said, I haven’t yet trusted myself to go above 60 km/h again, so I can’t say for sure that the issue is completely solved.

hi flo, from the looks of your pictures and valves, i assume you ride tubeless?

i highly recommend balancing the wheels. big difference. tubeless valves are around 20 - 25g.  even with tpu i balance wheels.
standard procedure on cars, noone does it on bikes

I started my build over the weekend and managed to get my headset bits all assembled and cut my fork.  I would say my headtube to plastic cover gap is similar to you folks, was surprisingly larger than I thought and I tripled check it all to make sure before I cut my tube tube but looks to be right.

My delivery didnt come with a 0.7mm spacer that they were previously shipping to alleviate some rubbing issues. I had posted about this when I got my frame last week and seems the latest deliveries no longer get this spacer.  I am wondering if they have made some adjustment in the latest deliveries (maybe shortening the plastic cover or increasing the thickness of the metal ring) to accommodate a larger clearance.

My only worry is the larger clearance allowing water to ingress and potentially ruining the bearings.

No 0.7mm spacer here either, arrived today. And I do have space as well, this is with some extra pressure holding it down.
And the uncovered 2mm behind the stack looks like designed to attract water and dirt. Not sure if that hole has alway been there ? Just got the bike

i use some 5g lead strips from amazon. easy to apply
but i guess anything lead made for tennis rackets or golf clubs will do

I ordered on Jun 23, Wendy told me it'll take about 30-45 business days. I emailed Wendy hoping for the frame to be ready and shipped by mid-August but alas, she said the production would probably be done by September 15-20, that's 22 days delay!!!.

I am very disappointed in that regard, along with the lack of updates whenever production timeline changes.

For context: I ordered a size 50 raw glossy carbon no logo, with 38x120mm. No fancy stuff like custom painting, which inevitably would take "more" time, hence me not opting for any paint.

I dont know what goes in their factory or if they're having carbon supply issues but I am very dissatisfied with Lightcarbon. I was hoping to build up this frame throughout the summer...

I ordered on Jun 23, Wendy told me it'll take about 30-45 business days. I emailed Wendy hoping for the frame to be ready and shipped by mid-August but alas, she said the production would probably be done by September 15-20, that's 22 days delay!!!.

I think they are overwhelmed with orders for the LCR018-D due to its success.  I ordered back in 10th May and received my frame on the 27 July so that was just over 11 weeks and that included custom painting and also a delay in getting my handlebar instock.  I did set myself an expectation that it would take a while based on feedback here so wasnt too worried if it took longer than expected.

i ordered an LCR018 in size 50 on 28.05.2026 and received it today. central europe. if that allows for delivery extrapolation.

on 22.07 i received notice from wendy that they are out of any HBR17 in 380mm width. ordered 360mm instead.

in general they are very friendly and try to make things right for u. i would just ask when u can expect delivery

I ordered 2x 58cm matte raw carbon frames for me and my brother back in last half of May, they got shipped on Friday just gone (7th July) - with the caveat that they didn't have one of the handlebar sizes i requested at the beginning. Disappointing but glad they're finally shipping - can't wait to get it.

This was my experience as well, cancelled my order. And bought a Velobuild VBR368 which was shipped the next day, because they had ud glossy in stock.

I was tempted getting the VBR368 before but opted for the LCR018 instead for the aero-endurance geo. It also would not make sense to get a similar geo (current bike: Java Fuoco size 51) and expecting better/different handling.

This processing timeline matches/exceeds what LC promised, 30-40 days production and 15 days shipping, which total is around 52 business days.

It makes little sense for my order to take 62 business days just for production! (including Chinese but excluding Ontario holidays)

45 business days is more than 2 months. You have not reached that. Mine shipped around the 2 month mark as promised.

Hey guys,

Lurking around in this topic for a while, as i have LCR018-D on my wishlist for next bike.

I am currently in ordering phase and doing some details with their staff over e-mail.

Just interested can anyone suggest about size 54 or 56 as currently i am on Focus Culebro SL 2.0 2014(i think this is model 99% sure) and recently had a bike fit with my current bike.
According to his bike fit my reach to handlebar is 495mm and stack is 575mm and i have 655 mm height to handlebars (80 mm stacked with spacers) - i measured stack and total height so could be up n down a bit.
Saddle height is 785 mm so just interested no idea if i'm missing smth with size 54 with saddle height also.
Right now i have it size 54 with 100mm stem and 8mm added stack (according to their specs in mail).

It is shorter in height but i assume relaxed geometry will give similar position or should i just go size 56 to have more flexibility in height and reach is very similar.
I am 185 mm height with shorter legs and inseam of 81 mm (longer torso and shorter legs).
First bike i bought was 2 big for me (bike fitter shortened my stem from 110 mm to 60 mm) so just scared about going 2 big again.

So looking at this HBR17 handlebar also is a riser bar for 8mm.
Looking at handlebar schematics it is 37 mm high and with 70mm for  spacers + lower and upper cap it does come to 664 mm which is more then enough height for me.
I did send enquiry to Wendy from Lightcarbon to check these numbers, if it's lower i will go size 56 i guess.
