Lightcarbon: LCR018-D (endurance all-road)

from quick glance it looks like the geometry is very close to the ENVE Fray, looking forward to this bike. I just wish it was coming out this summer.

Fits perfectly in the category of (and how it compares in a size 58):

-Envee Fray (is slightly higher, rest close to identical)
-Canyon Endurace (is slighty shorter and higher, slightly sharper headtube=>snappier steering yet less stable)
-Cervelo Caledonia (Reach and stack identical, slightly blunter headtube=>stable steering yet less snappy)
-BMC Roadmachine (slightly higher,slightly blunter headtube=>stable steering yet less snappy)

BB drop also all in the range of 3mm on all these bikes.
Wheelbase also all in a 2.5% range with the LC in the middle of the range.
Front center ratio is between 40.2% to 41.3% with the LC in the middle of the range with 40.7%

Seems like a road bike for the people.

I have this feeling a lot of taller riders riders have struggles with road bikes fitting. Hence i have the feeling endurance-style bikes are more popular in larger sizes. Is this bias true?
LightCarbon seems to listen to customers a lot, so if you can affirm this bias, we might be able to shuffle the order of production of frame sizes and get the larger sizes earlier.

If I am just living in a bubble, please tell me.

According to their sales representatives at Eurobike you can choose with/without compartment. I asked twice, because the first model there (which Hambini and Trace filmed) has none, but the said, this afternoon the other LCR18 bike should arrive with the compartment.

This photo is from their 2025-26 catalog. it looks like there can be a storage compartment, visible in the upper photo and the scheme direkt under the front bottle mount.

According to their sales representatives at Eurobike you can choose with/without compartment. I asked twice, because the first model there (which Hambini and Trace filmed) has none, but the said, this afternoon the other LCR18 bike should arrive with the compartment.

When I placed my order, it was not mentioned that you could choose between a model with or without a storage compartment. I think this might be a prototype without the compartment. According to the catalog, it does have one, but I’ll ask again to be sure.

I was at Eurobike today and had a great chat with Wendy. I can confirm that the frame is available in two versions – with and without storage in the downtube. Both versions are on display at Eurobike. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos – sorry about that!

Send the order email yesterday to them for the '18, Size 50 - availability from October! Decals/paint is extra. -> The mail was also from Wendy in the evening, seem's they are quite busy!
I might go there again on Sunday to confirm paint-job, ask about price levels for paint-jobs and check out the version with compartment. Also will ask about the compartment door - the Carbonda had one with integrated pump + minitools.

There was some confusion about this, so I reached out to Jim directly for clarification.

He confirmed that the LCR018 frame is available in two versions – with and without storage in the downtube.
At the time I placed my order, only the version without storage was available.

The good news: if you prefer the version with downtube storage, you can request it at no extra cost and without any delay in delivery.
I've opted for the version with storage and will also receive a matching storage bag for free.

Hi Jim, I know this is a bit out of turn since I'm not planning on buying a frameset right now, but I wanted to see if you've considered making a racier geometry. Something along the lines of using the size 47 stack for the 52 frame, with the 72.6-degree HT of the 56, but still using the 51mm offset fork. The reach may need to extend slightly to maintain the ~590mm FC. Similar to what Trek did to make the RSL version of their Domane.

For larger riders, a size 56 frame, paired with the stack from the 52, and utilizing the 51mm offset fork, would likely complete the range. I'm not sure if a 54 or 58 would make sense, given the overlap with the rest of the size range. Going smaller is also difficult because you don't want the head tube to get too small.

That said, I suspect that size 52 would be more popular. Riders are lowering their saddles, but they can't size down without being too far forward relative to the wheelbase. This is less of an issue for riders who would use the 56.

Even if these had no frame storage and only came with a higher-end layup, I suspect there would be a market for something like this.
