I might be wrong, but it seems to me that the stack of this bike is higher than usual due to the gravel geometry of the bottom bracket, which is lower than that of a road bike. Notice its BB drop – it’s much larger than normal, making the bottom bracket sit lower (which improves climbing while standing, but feels a bit sluggish for fast sprints).

Correct. That is why it is tempting me to go one size smaller. I am typically going for the 52cm but for this one I am tempted to go 50cm. (in general, a 50cm will have too low a stack like 510mm that I wouldn't even think of. But this frame 50cm got 538mm which might be workable if I stack a couple of more spacers at the steerer tube.)

If I decide to buy this frame, I should follow what you suggested. I’m 1.74m tall and currently ride a Velobuild 268 in size 52. For this one, I’m thinking of going with a smaller size for two reasons:

because of the frame geometry itself, following the reach

because I’ll have to use as an excuse for this project the fact of replacing my wife’s bike, which is currently a BMC Granfondo GF2 rim brake aluminum in size 51, which is a bit too big for her. She mostly complains about how much the bike vibrates (aluminum combined with narrow tires and imperfect roads).

So my idea would be to build this project and use the bike for some gravel rides and also for the Strade Bianche race here in Italy.

I was also on the fence between the 52 or 50 but I'm a bit shorter at 169cm (longer legs and shorter torso). Maybe I should be leaning towards a 50.

Anecdotally you're the opposite of me (long arms, short legs), and I went with 52. Lots of geometry comparisons on bike-stats.de between this frame and my Carbonda CFR707 gravel bike.

Looking forward to seeing the first few builds as I wait for my frameset.
Any guestimations on what weight you think would be achievable?
I’m not expecting weight weenie figures, but if it could build up around 7.5kg that would be great.
I’m building with a full Ultegra 8170 groupset and a set of 45mm, 1300g wheels.

I am 178cm, 83cm inseam and still going with the 52. I might just be able to slam that stem for once xD.

Oh, and I went with a custom color deep ocean red.

Also 178 cm and 85 inseam but went for the size 54. It is easier to slam the stem.

I expect 7,3kg + 300g pedals - that's with reusing full 2-by Di2 105er and a bulky 33mmX 50mm XMCS wheelset + heavy Schwalbe G-Speed / Tubeless. Not totally sure about each component's weight, and details like oil-in-hoses, frame paint's weight - but should be ballpark.

If it came in anywhere near 7.3kg I’d be over the moon.
I have some lightweight bits like galfer discs and titanium bolt upgrades for the groupset, so fingers crossed.

I'm not going for lightweight on my build, as this bike will be mainly used for flat(ish) gravel/allroad. That said, my target is 8,5kg ready to ride (with pedals, Garmin 1040 mounted, bottle cages, ride essentials in the downtube storage), so anything bellow that figure will be a bonus.

For this build I'll be using some parts I already have laying around (sub 200g saddle, 1500g 50mm carbon wheels, 160/140mm XTR rotors and 40mm Caracal Race tires, if they fit :P), with 1x13 speed transmission (EDS GeX groupset, Rival 13x 10-46 cassete and chain, 42T chainring). Let's see...

has the weight of the fork be published anywhere? i made a spreadsheet to track the cost and weight i got 7.5kg without pedals but that is guessing the frame/fork/bar and seatpost would be 2kg, if thats accurate 7.5 with pedals would be achievable with lighter wheels and tires

No figures on the fork Nick, but absolutely loving the spreadsheet!  :D

No info on the fork model AFAIR
this website says 510g for the gravel one (with the fairings) https://www.lightcarbon.com/lightcarbon-700c-disc-brake-gravel-carbon-fork-racing-gravel-fork_p244.html and 490g for this "aero" https://www.lightcarbon.com/lightcarbon-700c-disc-brake-gravel-carbon-fork-aero-gravel-bike-fork_p250.html

So, it should be close to 500g or little less.

Exciting to see pictures of painted frames ready to be shipped. Keep'em coming!

Haven't officially placed my order yet as I'm still thinking about the paint job. I really love the chronos paint job on the Seka spear and I do see that LC has a pretty similar paint job (more silver forward I guess?). I want to have an outlined "Light Carbon" decal on the down tube but i'm trying to decide between dark grey, gold, or a reflective laser mirror outline.

I think the paint scheme will look better on this frame with the deeper tubes as well.
