I considered ordering my frame without it too but I don't know what the future holds. Right now I'll mount it with 1x13 transmission, but...

Exactly my thoughts, Who knows that in the future I would like a 2x drive train......

That ZTTO chain guide is also a great option.

Delighted to say my LCR018-D has arrived this morning in N.Ireland.
Delivery was via UPS due to DPD saying they would not deliver to this region (very strange, but no point arguing) - got hit for £40 of import fees which wasn't too bad.

Approx 13 days delivery from when Carol emailed me to say it had been dispatched.
Box looks to be in good condition, a quick peek in and everything has been foam wrapped very well and I cannot wait to get time later to see how the lacquered raw carbon finish looks.

It'll be a couple of weeks before I get the build done at least, but I hope to document everything as I go and will provide updates to anyone who may be interested.
This will be a pure road build with Ultegra 8170 and 45mm deep wheel set with 30mm GP5000s.

Has anyone had a size 56 sent to them yet?

Couldn't resist ripping it all open to get a quick look - the raw carbon finish has exceeded my expectations, its beautiful!
Hard to photograph the effect, but took a few snaps to try and show it off.
The frame looks to be finished to a very high standard - and I love the little storage door!
One tiny point is the decals are on top of the lacquer, I would have preferred beneath for a lovely smooth finish and no chance of getting them damaged, but its only a small point.
Overall im delifghted and can't wait to get it built up.

I'm trying to pick between the 56 and 58 frame size. My last fit put my saddle height a 805mm (with 175mm cranks). Jim at Lightcarbon has given me a seat post length of 380mm with a min insertion depth of 100mm (but 120mm preferred). This means:

Seat post: 260mm

Size 56: Seat tube C-T 518mm + 260mm = 778mm to 798mm (excluding saddle)

Size 58: Seat tube C-T 530mm + 260mm = 790mm to 810mm (excluding saddle)

I'd prefer the reach of a Size 56 but is this too much of a risk with the possibility of following the "smaller crank" trend?

Many many thanks for the pictures! My frame will be just like yours, except without lettering, just that lovely plain raw laquered carbon finish! It looks really good, I'm very impressed...

My frame (size 54 raw matte with white logo) is arrived in Europe. Few more days to wait.

You guys must be from the first 54 size frame production batch. I hesitated a lot to order mine, I was also between sizes and made a lot of questions, and I ended up on the 3rd 52 frame size batch, so still a month to go for mine before shipping...  :'(

For those of you that are going for a 1x transmission on this frameset like me, what do you plan to do regarding the pre-installed front derailleur hanger/mount:

1. Simply remove it and just tape the 2 remaining holes;
2. Remove it and use some kind of cover to hide the holes (something like the one Specialized has for the SL7 frame comes to mind, picture bellow, but it may be frame specific, idk);
3. Use it to install a chainguide/chaincatcher;

I asked Jim if there would be a cover for it, but unfortunately, nothing is planned. So it would be cool if someone found a suitable one and shared their experience here. Or maybe someone could print something suitable with their 3D printer?

Is your clear coat tinted or completely transparent? I ordered mine in raw carbon matte with black decals. 😀

I'll test the cover for the Scott Foil RC MY23 frame (if I haven't lost it yet  ) and report back...

Just checked the exact wording on the order confirmation and it’s called “raw carbon glossy”.
So basically same as yours except gloss instead of matt lacquer.

I think (or hope!) it’s an optical illusion caused by reflections.
I don’t remember seeing anything untoward when I checked - although it was a very Quick Look.
I’ll double check tomorrow as I’m away tonight - will try to take another photo to confirm.
