Velobuild AERO GRAV Frame

I received my frame (size M with Pearl White painting) on Thursday (7th). I made the order on July 4th, so a little more than a month from order to delivery. Haven't had the time to look close at it yet, but the paint looks very nice and good quality overall. Hope to get the build finished by next week.

Can you post a picture of it? I'm thinking going something like Pearl White on it also, but it's almost a more difficult decision than what frame to get!

That states chameleon white? I found a lot of other examples of pearl white on their site, the problem they all look different because of the lighting

I have a problem with the one-bolt saddle clamp. My rider weight is 75kg, but the saddle tilt slipped several times. Already torqued it up to 12NM and used carbon paste. I do not see it holding up doing a race situation even at higher torque numbers. As I know my exact saddle tilt, I am honestly thinking of glueing in the inner part of the clamp.

Besides that, no complaints. Frame and build quality seems very good. Brake mounts are faced properly, BB thread was also good.

Here’s some pictures of my Pearl White frame. It’s hard to capture the pearl effect, but it looks very cool. I’m currently testing some decals to add on permanently later on.

Anyways, my build is slowly progressing. As a noob  in bike building, I’ve already had some, I guess anticipated, issues. I thought I was gonna use the Magene P515 power meter with a 48t chainring. When installing, I instantly saw that the spindle was way too short and the chainring collided with the frame. I think I would need 15 mm spacers to clear the frame (and not be able to mount the left hand side arm…). For now, I’ve put on the Rival crankset and the SRAM Dub Wide bb.

Looks good, I like the decals you got on so far. I wonder if I were to go 1x instead of 2x on my P505 if I would've run into issues not clearing. Right now im using my 52-36 rings and clearing fine surprisingly enough

Did you use a 0 offset chainring? Did you put it on the outside of the spider? If so there should be no interference since people here are running 2x with bigger chainrings

Damn. I just checked and I had it on the inside of the spider. Putting it in the outside gives me around 7 mm. The chainring has 3 mm offset, so a non-offset or negative offset chainring and maybe a spacer might give me the clearance I need. Thanks!

I did not see this post before I placed an order on mine. Went with Pearl White and I do not regret that after seeing this. Cool.

I’m thinking about adding 6.5 mm spacer instead to get a little more clearance. This setup gives me a chainline of 49.5 mm, any idea how that matches up with the SRAM E1 13-speed? Can’t seem to find any chainline recommendations.

looks like the SRAM website says 47.5mm chainline for their 13 speed XPLR stuff.

4.5mm clearance seems plenty, why do you want more? As Blueberry said Sram wide chainline is 47.5 you are already at 48.5. I dont see what you gain by going to 49.5.

Edit: even mountain bikers seem happy with 3mm clearance.
