I would definitely get an additional 0mm offset seatpost if I were you, it's only 35$. Even with separate bar and stem you still route the brake hoses through the stem internally so swapping up the stem is a pain in the butt. You will have to detach the brakes, remove handlebar tape, then reconnect everything and hope you don't have to bleed the system again. Also those spacers might not work with a regular aftermarket stem so you might have to source another stem from VB if necessary. Swapping the seatpost on the other hand takes 5 minutes if you need to shorten your position

Ah, I wasnt aware that you route trough he stem on these bikes. Sent them a mail and asked for the adjustments :)

I ordered my XS frame three weeks ago and am now gathering parts for my build.
I’m considering using the WheelTop EDS GeX 1×12 drivetrain, but have a significant question about the crankset.

Hi,
from what I understand…and cycling industry loves to just throw in new standards…
T47 inboard measures 86,5…now, surprise, if you ever had to install a t47 86,5…you might have scratched either your
head or your frame, because the flange where you engage your tool is very thin.
So…they came up with a bb-shell width of 85,5mm…so a dedicated bottom bracket t47 85,5 has a wider flange for tool engagement!
That means you end up finally at the same total width.
Now…of course you can thread in a 85,5mm bb into your 86,5mm frame….but…you will end up 1mm wider!
So…whatever crank you are going to install….it could work…but you should consider it.
I hope I am right and it makes sense…

Thanks for the heads up on this! I will look for another and have a spare 85.5 as a reminder to do my due diligence before ordering.  ;D

I would assume this setup would give you no issue. The 1mm difference likely won't cause incompatibility. Id probably order some 24mm shims to have on hand incase I get any rub and loctite the crank bolt.

I would question why a 175mm cranks on a XS frame? 165 or even 160 seem more appropriate for that size. I use 170s on a XL

I'm going to use 165mm  :)
I was confused by the "weird" 86.5mm size, so I thought it would be better to ask before ordering anything.
I have already found a Kactus BB T47-DUB (86.5mm).

I was confused by the "weird" 86.5mm size, so I thought it would be better to ask before ordering anything.
I have already found a Kactus BB T47-DUB (86.5mm).

If I decide to go for Wheeltop GeX, does it matter if I order a Shimano or XDR wheelset?

I will recive the 85.5 BB and crank in a few days and will try to figure out if a 1mm spacer may do the trick for the scenicx BB. The Kactus seems like a better option though.

I use both shimano and sram wheels on my MTB using the Wheeltop OX 2.0 and it works fine. I checked with wheeltop regarding the rotor size compability of the break calipers and they said that they only support 140/160mm rotors (even though some sources claimed that 180 is good). I changed my setup to 160 front and rear.

The reach seems really long? I think I would get something more relaxed if this was going to be my first or only gravel bike, especially with the long race lengths.

Hi, I didn’t some research into my crank and bb purchases. I got verified from velobuild that 86.5 is the outer measure of the threads on the frame.

The BB I bought was Senicx T47-85.5-24R-Ceramic Bearing,  that I measured to 85.5 maximum compressed. The middle "pipe" on the BB is there to keep dirt away from the bearings and avoid that the crank rubs against the inner cables, and I’m fairly sure it will keep tight.  It would be better with a wider BB.

The crank I bought was SENICX PR3 Gravel Bike Crankset 40T chainring 175mm Crank 10/11S Speed 24MM and this seems to be my main issue. It has an optimal inner distance of 89mm without spacers, so I will have about around 3mm of the splines not connected to the crank arm. The total length of the splines is 20mm. If need for spacers I think i will have a big problem.

Cool, thank you. The shims i ordered was 1mm, i will get some thinner ones as well :)

Hey everyone,

I just got an update from Velobuild saying they “hope to ship the frame in mid-July,” and it’s starting to get a bit frustrating  >:(

Does anyone know of any other gravel frames with a similar geometry I could look at in the meantime?
I'm looking for an XS frame, preferably with the following specifications: Reach 370-380 mm, Stack 530-550 mm, TTE 515-525 mm, and Standover 740 mm.

If not...I'm seriously considering pulling the trigger on a new Rose Backroad FF with the latest SRAM Rival 1x13 ::)

Got to say I'm more than frustrated with this situation.

There's no good and precise information from them, just a sequence of delays. First frames would be finished by end of may, then end june, now mid july. What next?

A very poor comunicating channel (I asked them last week when they would ship the frame and no answer so far). I'm relying on other people comments here right now.

The product page keep stacking the number of sold frames, and no frame actually exists that we know of.

I know what I choose, I know chinese sellers are difficult in certain aspects, but come on guys, this is getting ridiculous now.
