I'm interested in either 24 or 25mm internal, 40 or 45mm deep, along with carbon spokes and also the THR industries R2 or R3 hubs.

I thought i give my thoughts on them.
I had order my wheel just a day before their golden week .. Zara team work around the clock to get my order up as i was due to fly overseas to cycle.. and they did.. but i had to postpone my trip due to the typhoon hitting Taiwan.. but i have been putting some serious mileage on them and they are holding up pretty well. Mine is the version before the ultra light weight version.. its about 1017 grams.
fast forward to 2 month later and i had the opportunity to visit their factory and of cos their cold storage where they kept their prize Toray material. We spend some time discussing about Zen Wheel future development and i would say it definitely worth giving them a try. they are much smaller scale compare to some of the others factories so the range of rim SKU might be not exhaustive but whatever they have right now should cater to our needs and the attention to details and quality is decent.. to give you some context, i had been using light bicycle since 2012 and farsport wheel for a long time and working with Zen....i would say they just as good.

This rim continues to support our 120 kg rider/load limit, which is higher than many popular ultralight options currently on the market.

VaporLite Ultra — Technical Overview & Availability

The VaporLite Ultra is the newest ultralight carbon wheelset in the ZEN lineup, aimed at riders who want low weight, solid stiffness, and multiple depth options. The lightest configuration starts at 884g.

Weights by Rim Depth

• 36mm — 884g
• 40mm — 904g
• 45mm — 974g
• 50mm — 984g
• 55mm — 1064g
• 60mm — 1074g


Mixed‑depth builds are possible (example: 50/60mm = 1029g).
All weights ±30g depending on finish.

Weights listed are with UD Paint‑Free Matte, the lightest finish.
Other finishes available: UD Gloss, 3K / 6K / 12K matte or gloss.
Some finishes add weight.

Lead Time Update – Effective 8 January

Starting 8 January, our standard production lead time will be 4–5 weeks.

Please note:
If the estimated shipping date overlaps with the Chinese New Year holiday (14–23 February), an additional 10 days may be required due to reduced factory capacity, as many factories shut down or operate at reduced capacity during this period.

We cannot guarantee that any orders placed from 8 January will ship before 14 February.

We’ll provide a fresh timing update once operations resume after the holiday.
