I do think you can buy rim brake wheels with carbon spokes.  Send Zara a WhatsApp message and she can answer and quote you for a set.

The problem you're going to have is that there is simply nobody developing things for rim brakes anymore bevause the market is for it is too dead to be worth it.

Well, you may or may not have seen it, but there’s a lot going on over on Weight Weenies about the new 9Velo wheels. They’ve just released what looks to be the first sub-1000 g 50 mm wheelset — technically 52/52 mm at a claimed 999 g.

Everyone jumped on them because the advertised load limit was listed as 110 kg, but that’s now been quietly revised down to 100 kg some pissed people.
Then someone pointed out that BTLOS have what appears to be the same rims, originally claiming a 120 kg limit — but when checked, they also confirmed 100 kg.

You really have to watch these bold claims around rim load ratings now. The rims clearly have certain criteria for use — looks like they might be better hung on a wall and posted on Instagram rather than actually ridden! 😂

I emailed Zara at Zen the week before last when I first saw them. She confirmed they should be getting those rims — total weight would come to around 990 g (two 340 g rims, 226 g hubs, and 84 g of spokes). She initially said 100 kg, then later told someone else 90 kg. Hopefully, I’ll get more clarity from her tomorrow — I’m still potentially looking at getting a set myself.

Zen can now offer  carbon rims without holes in the rim bed for carbon spokes. However, these wheels are more difficult and time-consuming to build, so there’s an additional cost of $50 USD.

I’m not sure how much weight this design adds, or whether it’s only possible with certain rim models — I’d need to check with Zara on that.

The first photo shows how the spokes look when laced on a rim without spoke holes — personally, I’m not a big fan of this look.
The second photo shows a rim with holes in the bed, which I prefer, especially since I’d rather use rim tape if I were running tubeless.

Agreed. That second photo looks a lot better. The first photo doesn't have the streamlined look of internal nipples, and I'd rather use tape in that case.
