Thanks for the replys so far. I was aiming to go for ~110kg load limit. As the 24iW superlight rim has a lower weight limit I would go superlight front and light back. For the 25 iW the superlight limit is 120kg so I should be fine.
I don't plan to go any wider than 30-32 WAM for the wheels. For anything streets/terrain requiring more comfort I have a fast gravel bike.
Yeah, super light—25 mm sounds good, with a 120 kg limit probably better since they’re very light. The 24 mm internal width rims are specified as 100–110 kg, which is pretty similar to what I’m getting from Serenade Wheels. The wheels I’m getting are rated for a 110 kg rider. Their rims measure 34 mm external at the widest point, with an internal width of 23 mm—should be interesting to see how that compares when I get them.
On their website, the listed wheelset weight is 1,280 g, but if you add up all the components, it actually comes to 1,326 g—so the info is a bit contradictory. If you go to the link, the spokes are listed as 3.3 mm or 3.5 mm, and the photo shows something slightly different, so again, there’s some contradictory information. Those are obviously bladed carbon and steel spokes. The upgraded ones I’m getting are 2.9 mm bladed carbon–titanium spokes, which should enable the wheels to actually hit the advertised weight listed on their site.
There were some hiccups with my order initially. I actually got photos of the Serenade wheels last week, but they sent just a glossy finish instead of the UD Paintless Glossy I originally requested. It’s not a big deal since it wasn’t urgent, but to save time, I’ve decided to go for the UD Painfree Matte finish this time. Hopefully, the wheels will be sent out next week. I’ve asked them to send some photos before shipping, just to make sure I’m happy, so we’ll see how it goes.
