Aliexpress BH90 compatible brake hose
« on: June 13, 2025, 01:54:41 AM »
Hello! Has anyone tried using some of those cheap AliExpress BH90 hoses? They're like 20% of the price of genuine shimano brake hose, so I am a bit skeptical

Thanks for the answer. I am only needing to swap them out because of internal routing and using the routing tool deforms the end of the cable, needing it to be cut. Meanwhile, mine are already cut to size.

I am thinking if maybe there is a way to glue/tie some cable to the end and pull it through with the frame, so that I leave a guide behind and don't have to take the cables out of the integrated handlebar and stem, then I can mess with the headset and use the same method to glue/tie the old cables to the guides and pull them back... Routing through the frame was not that big of an issue since I could go back to front + I already have the foam inserts there, which might stay in place and provide further guidance. But going front to back might complicate things

I know about those, but anything that goes inside the hose is going to deform it and will probably lead to leaks, so I don't want to do anything like that.

As for the olive, you can remove it without any problem. It's recommended to always swap the olive if you take the cables out and crush a new one

so I was planning on swapping my brakes from hard tail to new full sus frame. I doubt the hose will be long enough and in a bit of a pickle... drop $35 in shimano hoses, $10 in ZTTO or the like or just drop $80 a second complete brake set, which would provide me with hoses, spare calipers and levers...

At that cost??? 100% the latter and save yourself loads of headaches and have a brand new complete system.

Buongiorno a tutti.

Ho ordinato questi tubi per freni idraulici (Shimano 105 12 velocità Di2).
https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005007090191801.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.11.3a903696lAB1t9&tblci=GiATyNuZ97LzOk3RuLsw9eQGuPfXmc2EjXkVosAfqTlLCSDA9m4or8CawNHT-JwTMOTOPQ&gatewayAdapt=glo2ita

Sono però un po' titubante nell'usarli, visto il loro basso costo.
Avete esperienza con questo o un prodotto simile?
Li usereste?
Grazie.

I've not tried this method as of yet, but I have a buddy that crimps a derailleur cable onto the hose using an olive and a pair of pliers, and then pulls that thru.
